▶ Before you are driven away, like chaff that passes on; Before there comes upon you the blazing anger of the LORD: Before there comes upon you the day of the LORD'S anger.

주님을 찾아라, 그분의 법규를 실천하는 이 땅의 모든 겸손한 이들아! 의로움을 찾아라. 겸손함을 찾아라. 그러면 주님의 분노의 날에 너희가 화를 피할 수 있으리라.

▶ Seek the LORD, all you humble of the earth, who have observed his law; Seek justice, seek humility; perhaps you may be sheltered on the day of the LORD'S anger.

필리스티아에 벌이 내리리라
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

|
정녕 가자는 인적이 끊기고 아스클론은 폐허가 되리라. 아스돗 주민들은 대낮에 쫓겨나고 에크론 사람들은 모조리 내몰리리라.

▶ For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon shall be a waste, Ashdod they shall drive out at midday, and Ekron shall be uprooted.

불행하여라, 해안 지방에 사는 크렛 민족! ─ 주님께서 너희를 거슬러 말씀하신다. ─ 필리스티아 땅 가나안아 내가 너를 없애 버려 주민들이 하나도 남지 않게 하리라.

▶ Woe to you who dwell by the seacoast, to the Cretan folk! The word of the LORD is against you, I will humble you, land of the Philistines, and leave you to perish without an inhabitant!

해안 지방은 풀밭이 되고 목자들의 움막이 되며 양 떼의 우리가 되리라.

▶ The coastland of the Cretans shall become fields for shepherds, and folds for flocks.

|
그 지방은 유다 집안의 남은 자들 소유가 되리라. 그들은 거기에서 양 떼를 먹이다가 저녁에는 아스클론에 있는 집에 누우리라. 정녕 주 그들의 하느님께서 찾아오시어 그들의 운명을 되돌려 주실 것이다.

▶ The coast shall belong to the remnant of the house of Judah; by the sea they shall pasture. In the houses of Ashkelon at evening they shall couch their flocks, For the LORD their God shall visit them, and bring about their restoration.

모압에 벌이 내리리라
|

|
|
|
|

|
나는 모압이 모욕하고 암몬 자손들이 야유하는 소리를 들었다. 그들은 내 백성을 모욕하고 자기들의 국경에 서서 으스대었다.

▶ I have heard the revilings uttered by Moab, and the insults of the Ammonites, When they reviled my people and made boasts against their territory.

|
이스라엘의 하느님, 만군의 주님의 말씀이다. 그러므로 내가 살아 있는 한 모압은 소돔처럼 되고 암몬 자손들은 고모라처럼 되리라. 쐐기풀이 자라는 땅이 되고 소금 구덩이가 되어 영원한 폐허가 되리라. 내 백성의 남은 자들이 그들을 털고 내 민족의 살아남은 자들이 그것들을 차지하리라.

▶ Therefore, as I live, says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Moab shall become like Sodom, the land of Ammon like Gomorrah: A field of nettles and a salt pit and a waste forever. The remnant of my people shall plunder them, the survivors of my nation dispossess them.

이것은 그들 교만의 대가이니, 그들이 만군의 주님의 백성을 모욕하며 으스댄 탓이다.

▶ Such shall be the requital of their pride, because they reviled and boasted against the people of the LORD of hosts.

|
주님께서는 그들에게 두려우신 분으로 드러나실 것이다. 정녕 그분께서는 세상의 신들을 모두 사라지게 하실 것이다. 모든 섬나라 민족들이 저마다 제고장에서 그분을 경배할 것이다.

▶ The LORD shall inspire them with fear when he makes all the gods of earth to waste away; Then, each from its own place, all the coastlands of the nations shall adore him.

에티오피아에 벌이 내리리라
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

에티오피아 사람들아 너희도 내 칼에 맞아 죽으리라.

▶ You too, O Cushites, shall be slain by the sword of the LORD.

아시리아에 벌이 내리리라

|
|
|

|
그분께서는 북녘으로 손을 뻗으시어 아시리아를 없애시고 니네베를 폐허로, 광야처럼 메마른 땅으로 만드시리라.

▶ He will stretch out his hand against the north, to destroy Assyria; He will make Nineveh a waste, dry as the desert.

|
가축 떼가, 골짜기의 온갖 짐승이 그 한가운데에 눕고 사다새와 부엉이도 니네베 기둥 꼭대기에서 지내리라. 올빼미는 창문턱에서, 까마귀는 문지방에서 노래하리니 향백나무 들보가 드러났기 때문이다.

▶ In her midst shall settle in droves all the wild life of the hollows; The screech owl and the desert owl shall roost in her columns; Their call shall resound from the window, the raven's croak from the doorway.

이것이 “나야, 나밖에 없어!” 하면서 희희낙락 태평스레 지내던 그 성읍이냐? 어찌하여 그 성읍은 들짐승이 깃들이는 폐허가 되었는가? 그곳을 지나가는 사람마다 휘파람을 불며 손을 흔들어 대리라.

▶ Is this the exultant city that dwelt secure; That told herself, "There is no other than I!" How has she become a waste, a lair for wild beasts? Whoever passes by her hisses, and shakes his fist!
