Son of man, stand up! I wish to speak with you.

▶ 그분께서 나에게 말씀하셨다. “사람의 아들아, 일어서라. 내가 너에게 할 말이 있다.”

As he spoke to me, spirit entered into me and set me on my feet, and I heard the one who was speaking

▶ 그분께서 나에게 말씀하실 때, 영이 내 안으로 들어오셔서 나를 일으켜 세우셨다. 그때 나는 그분께서 나에게 말씀하시는 것을 들었다.

say to me: Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites, rebels who have rebelled against me; they and their fathers have revolted against me to this very day.

▶ 그분께서 나에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. “사람의 아들아, 내가 이스라엘 자손들, 나를 반역해 온 저 반역의 민족에게 너를 보낸다. 그들은 저희 조상들처럼 오늘날까지 나를 거역해 왔다.

Hard of face and obstinate of heart are they to whom I am sending you. But you shall say to them: Thus says the Lord GOD!

▶ 얼굴이 뻔뻔하고 마음이 완고한 저 자손들에게 내가 너를 보낸다. 너는 그들에게 ‘주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다.’ 하고 말하여라.

And whether they heed or resist - for they are a rebellious house - they shall know that a prophet has been among them.

▶ 그들이 듣든, 또는 그들이 반항의 집안이어서 듣지 않든, 자기들 가운데에 예언자가 있다는 사실만은 알게 될 것이다.

But as for you, son of man, fear neither them nor their words when they contradict you and reject you, and when you sit on scorpions. Neither fear their words nor be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house.

▶ 그러니 너 사람의 아들아, 그들을 두려워하지 말고, 그들이 하는 말도 두려워하지 마라. 비록 가시가 너를 둘러싸고, 네가 전갈 떼 가운데에서 산다 하더라도, 그들이 하는 말을 두려워하지 말고, 그들의 얼굴을 보고 떨지도 마라. 그들은 반항의 집안이다.

(But speak my words to them, whether they heed or resist, for they are rebellious.)

▶ 듣든 말든 너는 그들에게 나의 말을 전하여라. 그들은 반항의 집안이다.

As for you, son of man, obey me when I speak to you: be not rebellious like this house of rebellion, but open your mouth and eat what I shall give you.

▶ 너 사람의 아들아, 내가 너에게 하는 말을 들어라. 저 반항의 집안처럼 반항하는 자가 되지 마라. 그리고 입을 벌려 내가 너에게 주는 것을 받아먹어라.”

It was then I saw a hand stretched out to me, in which was a written scroll

▶ 그래서 내가 바라보니, 손 하나가 나에게 뻗쳐 있는데, 거기에는 두루마리 하나가 놓여 있었다.

which he unrolled before me. It was covered with writing front and back, and written on it was: Lamentation and wailing and woe!

▶ 그분께서 그것을 내 앞에 펴 보이시는데, 앞뒤로 글이 적혀 있었다. 거기에는 비탄과 탄식과 한숨이 적혀 있었다.
