▶ When they drew near Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples,

말씀하셨다. “너희 맞은쪽 동네로 가거라. 매여 있는 암나귀와 그 곁의 어린 나귀를 곧바로 보게 될 것이다. 그것들을 풀어 나에게 끌고 오너라.

▶ saying to them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find an ass tethered, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them here to me.

|
누가 너희에게 무어라고 하거든, ‘주님께서 필요하시답니다.’ 하고 대답하여라. 그러면 그것들을 곧 보내 줄 것이다.”

▶ And if anyone should say anything to you, reply, 'The master has need of them.' Then he will send them at once."

▶ This happened so that what had been spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled:

▶ They brought the ass and the colt and laid their cloaks over them, and he sat upon them.

▶ The very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and strewed them on the road.

그리고 앞서 가는 군중과 뒤따라가는 군중이 외쳤다. “다윗의 자손께 호산나! 주님의 이름으로 오시는 분은 복되시어라. 지극히 높은 곳에 호산나!”

▶ The crowds preceding him and those following kept crying out and saying: "Hosanna to the Son of David; blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord; hosanna in the highest."

이렇게 하여 예수님께서 예루살렘에 들어가시니 온 도성이 술렁거리며, “저분이 누구냐?” 하고 물었다.

▶ And when he entered Jerusalem the whole city was shaken and asked, "Who is this?"

그러자 군중이 “저분은 갈릴래아 나자렛 출신 예언자 예수님이시오.” 하고 대답하였다.

▶ And the crowds replied, "This is Jesus the prophet, from Nazareth in Galilee."

|
예수님께서는 성전에 들어가시어, 그곳에서 사고팔고 하는 자들을 모두 쫓아내시고, 환전상들의 탁자와 비둘기 장수들의 의자를 둘러엎으셨다.

|
|
▶ Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all those engaged in selling and buying there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves.

그리고 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “‘나의 집은 기도의 집이라 불릴 것이다.’라고 기록되어 있다. 그런데 너희는 이 곳을 ‘강도들의 소굴’로 만드는구나.”

▶ And he said to them, "It is written: 'My house shall be a house of prayer,' but you are making it a den of thieves."

|
그때에 성전에서 눈먼 이들과 절름거리는 이들이 다가오자, 예수님께서는 그들을 고쳐 주셨다.

▶ The blind and the lame approached him in the temple area, and he cured them.

▶ When the chief priests and the scribes saw the wondrous things he was doing, and the children crying out in the temple area, "Hosanna to the Son of David," they were indignant

예수님께 “저 아이들이 무어라고 하는지 듣고 있소?” 하였다. 예수님께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “그렇다. ‘당신께서는 아기들과 젖먹이들의 입에서 찬양이 나오게 하셨습니다.’라는 말씀을 너희는 읽어 본 적이 없느냐?”

▶ and said to him, "Do you hear what they are saying?" Jesus said to them, "Yes; and have you never read the text, 'Out of the mouths of infants and nurslings you have brought forth praise'?"

마침 길가에 있는 무화과나무 한 그루를 보시고 가까이 가셨다. 그러나 잎사귀밖에는 달리 아무것도 보이지 않았으므로 그 나무를 향하여 말씀하셨다. “이제부터 너는 영원히 열매 맺는 일이 없을 것이다.” 그러자 나무가 즉시 말라 버렸다.

▶ Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went over to it, but found nothing on it except leaves. And he said to it, "May no fruit ever come from you again." And immediately the fig tree withered.

|
제자들이 그것을 보고 놀라서, “어째서 무화과나무가 즉시 말라 버렸습니까?” 하고 물었다.

▶ When the disciples saw this, they were amazed and said, "How was it that the fig tree withered immediately?"

예수님께서 그들에게 대답하셨다. “내가 진실로 너희에게 말한다. 너희가 믿음을 가지고 의심하지 않으면, 이 무화과나무에 일어난 일을 할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 이 산더러 ‘들려서 저 바다에 빠져라.’ 하여도 그대로 이루어질 것이다.

▶ Jesus said to them in reply, "Amen, I say to you, if you have faith and do not waver, not only will you do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' it will be done.

그리고 너희가 기도할 때에 믿고 청하는 것은 무엇이든지 다 받을 것이다.”

▶ When he had come into the temple area, the chief priests and the elders of the people approached him as he was teaching and said, "By what authority are you doing these things? And who gave you this authority?"

그러자 예수님께서 말씀하셨다. “나도 너희에게 한 가지 묻겠다. 너희가 나에게 대답하면, 나도 무슨 권한으로 이런 일을 하는지 너희에게 말해 주겠다.

▶ Where was John's baptism from? Was it of heavenly or of human origin?" They discussed this among themselves and said, "If we say 'Of heavenly origin,' he will say to us, 'Then why did you not believe him?'

그렇다고 ‘사람에게서 왔다.’ 하자니 군중이 두렵소. 그들이 모두 요한을 예언자로 여기니 말이오.”

▶ But if we say, 'Of human origin,' we fear the crowd, for they all regard John as a prophet."

그래서 그들이 예수님께 “모르겠소.” 하고 대답하였다. 그러자 예수님께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “나도 무슨 권한으로 이런 일을 하는지 너희에게 말하지 않겠다.”

▶ So they said to Jesus in reply, "We do not know." He himself said to them, "Neither shall I tell you by what authority I do these things.

▶ He said in reply, 'I will not,' but afterwards he changed his mind and went.

▶ "Hear another parable. There was a landowner who planted a vineyard, put a hedge around it, dug a wine press in it, and built a tower. Then he leased it to tenants and went on a journey.

포도 철이 가까워지자 그는 자기 몫의 소출을 받아 오라고 소작인들에게 종들을 보냈다.

▶ When vintage time drew near, he sent his servants to the tenants to obtain his produce.

그런데 소작인들은 그들을 붙잡아 하나는 매질하고 하나는 죽이고 하나는 돌을 던져 죽이기까지 하였다.

|
▶ But the tenants seized the servants and one they beat, another they killed, and a third they stoned.

▶ Again he sent other servants, more numerous than the first ones, but they treated them in the same way.
