|
그러므로 믿음으로 의롭게 된 우리는 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 통하여 하느님과 더불어 평화를 누립니다.

▶ Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

믿음 덕분에, 우리는 그리스도를 통하여 우리가 서 있는 이 은총 속으로 들어올 수 있게 되었습니다. 그리고 하느님의 영광에 참여하리라는 희망을 자랑으로 여깁니다.

▶ through whom we have gained access (by faith) to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God.

그뿐만 아니라 우리는 환난도 자랑으로 여깁니다. 우리가 알고 있듯이, 환난은 인내를 자아내고

▶ Not only that, but we even boast of our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance,

인내는 수양을, 수양은 희망을 자아냅니다.

▶ and endurance, proven character, and proven character, hope,
|
|

|
그리고 희망은 우리를 부끄럽게 하지 않습니다. 우리가 받은 성령을 통하여 하느님의 사랑이 우리 마음에 부어졌기 때문입니다.

|
▶ and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the holy Spirit that has been given to us.

우리가 아직 나약하던 시절, 그리스도께서는 정해진 때에 불경한 자들을 위하여 돌아가셨습니다.

▶ For Christ, while we were still helpless, yet died at the appointed time for the ungodly.

|
의로운 이를 위해서라도 죽을 사람은 거의 없습니다. 혹시 착한 사람을 위해서라면 누가 죽겠다고 나설지도 모릅니다.

|
▶ Indeed, only with difficulty does one die for a just person, though perhaps for a good person one might even find courage to die.

그런데 우리가 아직 죄인이었을 때에 그리스도께서 우리를 위하여 돌아가심으로써, 하느님께서는 우리에 대한 당신의 사랑을 증명해 주셨습니다.

▶ But God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.
|

그러므로 이제 그분의 피로 의롭게 된 우리가 그분을 통하여 하느님의 진노에서 구원을 받게 되리라는 것은 더욱 분명합니다.

▶ How much more then, since we are now justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from the wrath.

|
우리가 하느님의 원수였을 때에 그분 아드님의 죽음으로 그분과 화해하게 되었다면, 화해가 이루어진 지금 그 아드님의 생명으로 구원을 받게 되리라는 것은 더욱 분명합니다.

▶ Indeed, if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, once reconciled, will we be saved by his life.

그뿐 아니라 우리는 또한 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 통하여 하느님을 자랑합니다. 이 그리스도를 통하여 이제 화해가 이루어진 것입니다.

▶ Not only that, but we also boast of God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

그러므로 한 사람을 통하여 죄가 세상에 들어왔고 죄를 통하여 죽음이 들어왔듯이, 또한 이렇게 모두 죄를 지었으므로 모든 사람에게 죽음이 미치게 되었습니다.

▶ Therefore, just as through one person sin entered the world, and through sin, death, and thus death came to all, inasmuch as all sinned
|

사실 율법이 있기 전에도 세상에 죄가 있었지만, 율법이 없어서 죄가 죄로 헤아려지지 않았습니다.

▶ for up to the time of the law, sin was in the world, though sin is not accounted when there is no law.

그러나 아담부터 모세까지는, 아담의 범죄와 같은 방식으로 죄를 짓지 않은 자들까지도 죽음이 지배하였습니다. 아담은 장차 오실 분의 예형입니다.

▶ But death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin after the pattern of the trespass of Adam, who is the type of the one who was to come.

그렇지만 은사의 경우는 범죄의 경우와 다릅니다. 사실 그 한 사람의 범죄로 많은 사람이 죽었지만, 하느님의 은총과 예수 그리스도 한 사람의 은혜로운 선물은 많은 사람에게 충만히 내렸습니다.

▶ But the gift is not like the transgression. For if by that one person's transgression the many died, how much more did the grace of God and the gracious gift of the one person Jesus Christ overflow for the many.
|

그리고 이 선물의 경우도 그 한 사람이 죄를 지은 경우와는 다릅니다. 한 번의 범죄 뒤에 이루어진 심판은 유죄 판결을 가져왔지만, 많은 범죄 뒤에 이루어진 은사는 무죄 선언을 가져왔습니다.

▶ And the gift is not like the result of the one person's sinning. For after one sin there was the judgment that brought condemnation; but the gift, after many transgressions, brought acquittal.
|

|
사실 그 한 사람의 범죄로 그 한 사람을 통하여 죽음이 지배하게 되었지만, 은총과 의로움의 선물을 충만히 받은 이들은 예수 그리스도 한 분을 통하여 생명을 누리며 지배할 것입니다.

▶ For if, by the transgression of one person, death came to reign through that one, how much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of justification come to reign in life through the one person Jesus Christ.

그러므로 한 사람의 범죄로 모든 사람이 유죄 판결을 받았듯이, 한 사람의 의로운 행위로 모든 사람이 의롭게 되어 생명을 받습니다.

▶ In conclusion, just as through one transgression condemnation came upon all, so through one righteous act acquittal and life came to all.

한 사람의 불순종으로 많은 이가 죄인이 되었듯이, 한 사람의 순종으로 많은 이가 의로운 사람이 될 것입니다.

▶ For just as through the disobedience of one person the many were made sinners, so through the obedience of one the many will be made righteous.

율법이 들어와 범죄가 많아지게 하였습니다. 그러나 죄가 많아진 그곳에 은총이 충만히 내렸습니다.

▶ The law entered in so that transgression might increase but, where sin increased, grace overflowed all the more,

이는 죄가 죽음으로 지배한 것처럼, 은총이 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 통하여 영원한 생명을 가져다주는 의로움으로 지배하게 하려는 것입니다.

▶ so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through justification for eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
