지혜로운 판관은 자신의 백성을 가르치고 지각 있는 자의 통치는 질서 있게 이루어진다.

이웃의 잘못에 일일이 화내지 말고 거만한 행동은 조금도 하지 마라.

▶ No matter the wrong, do no violence to your neighbor, and do not walk the path of arrogance.

오만은 주님과 사람 앞에서 혐오스럽고 불의는 둘 다에게 역겹다.

▶ Odious to the LORD and to men is arrogance, and the sin of oppression they both hate.

왕권은 민족에서 민족으로 넘겨지는데 불의와 폭력과 재물 때문에 그렇게 된다. 돈을 밝히는 자보다 더 무도한 자는 없으니 그런 자는 제 영혼조차 팔려고 내놓기 때문이다.

그분께서 그들 가운데 일부를 뽑아내 멸망시키시고 그들에 대한 기억을 땅에서 지우신다.

▶ The traces of the proud God sweeps away and effaces the memory of them from the earth.

어떤 후손이 영예로운가? 인간의 후손이다. 어떤 후손이 영예로운가? 주님을 경외하는 이들이다. 어떤 후손이 치욕스러운가? 인간의 후손이다. 어떤 후손이 치욕스러운가? 계명을 어기는 자들이다.
