주님, 저희에게 자비를 베푸소서. 저희가 당신만을 바랍니다. 아침마다 저희의 팔이 되어 주소서. 곤경의 때에 저희 구원이 되어 주소서.

높은 데에 계시니 주님께서는 드높으시고 시온을 공정과 정의로 채우셨다.

▶ The LORD is exalted, enthroned on high; he fills Zion with right and justice.

|
그분께서 너의 시대에 안녕을 주시리라. 지혜와 지식은 풍성한 구원이 되고 주님을 경외함은 시온의 보화가 되리라.

땅은 슬퍼하며 생기를 잃어 가고 레바논은 부끄러워하며 메말라 간다. 사론은 사막처럼 되고 바산과 카르멜은 벌거숭이가 된다.

나 이제 일어선다. 주님께서 말씀하신다. 나 이제 몸을 일으킨다. 나 이제 일어난다.

▶ The peoples shall be as in a limekiln, like brushwood cut down for burning in the fire.

멀리 있는 자들아, 내가 한 일을 들어 보아라. 가까이 있는 자들아, 나의 힘을 깨달아라.

|
|
▶ Hear, you who are far off, what I have done; you who are near, acknowledge my might.
|
|

|
시온에서 죄인들은 두려워 떨고 무도한 자들은 전율에 사로잡힌다. “우리 가운데 누가 이 집어삼키는 불 속에 머물 수 있으랴? 우리 가운데 누가 이 영원한 불꽃 속에 머물 수 있으랴?”

▶ On Zion sinners are in dread, trembling grips the impious: "Who of us can live with the consuming fire? who of us can live with the everlasting flames?"

의롭게 걷는 이와 정직하게 말하는 이 강압으로 얻는 이익을 업신여기는 이 뇌물을 받지 않으려고 제 손을 뿌리치는 이 살인하자는 소리를 듣지 않으려고 귀를 막는 이 악한 일을 보지 않으려고 눈을 감는 이

이런 이는 높은 곳에 살게 되리라. 바위로 된 산성이 그의 피신처가 되고 그에게는 빵이 주어지며 물도 떨어지지 않으리라.

네 눈은 수려한 모습의 임금을 바라보리라. 널리 펼쳐진 땅을 보리라.

무서웠던 일들이 네 마음에 떠오르리라. “수를 세던 자는 어디에 있지? 무게를 달던 자는 어디에 있지? 탑의 수를 세던 자는 어디에 있지?”

▶ Your mind will dwell on the terror: "Where is he who counted, where is he who weighed? Where is he who counted the towers?"

|
너는 뻔뻔스러운 민족을 보지 않으리라. 알아듣지 못하는 괴이한 말을 하고 이해할 수 없는 말을 웅얼거리는 민족을 더는 보지 않으리라.

▶ To the people of alien tongue you will look no more, the people of obscure speech, stammering in a language not understood.

너는 시온을 바라보아라, 우리 축제의 도시를. 네 눈은 예루살렘을 보리라. 안전한 거처, 거두어지지 않는 천막, 말뚝이 다시는 뽑히지 않고 줄이 하나도 끊기지 않는 천막을 보리라.

▶ Look to Zion, the city of our festivals; let your eyes see Jerusalem as a quiet abode, a tent not to be struck, Whose pegs will never be pulled up, nor any of its ropes severed.

거기에서 주님께서는 우리에게 엄위하신 분이 되시리라. 그곳은 넓은 강과 시내들이 흐르는 곳이 되리라. 그러나 노 젓는 큰 배는 그리로 가지 못하고 위풍을 뽐내는 배는 지나지 못하리라.

▶ Indeed the LORD will be there with us, majestic; yes, the LORD our judge, the LORD our lawgiver, the LORD our king, he it is who will save us.

너의 밧줄들은 늘어져 돛대의 버팀목을 단단히 잡아 주지 못하고 깃발을 펴지도 못하리라. 그때에 사람들은 수많은 전리품과 노획품을 나누어 받고 다리저는 이들도 노략하려고 달려들리라.

▶ The rigging hangs slack; it cannot hold the mast in place, nor keep the sail spread out. Then the blind will divide great spoils and the lame will carry off the loot.

그곳에 사는 이는 아무도 “나는 병들었다.” 하지 않고 거기에 거주하는 백성은 죄를 용서받으리라.
