제십년 열째 달 열이튿날에 주님의 말씀이 나에게 내렸다.

▶ On the twelfth day of the tenth month in the tenth year, the word of the LORD came to me:

“사람의 아들아, 이집트 임금 파라오에게 얼굴을 돌리고, 그와 온 이집트를 거슬러 예언하여라.

|
▶ Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt.
|

|
너는 말하여라. ‘주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 나 이제 너를 대적하리라, 이집트 임금 파라오야! 나일 강 한가운데에 드러누워 ′나일 강은 내 것이다. 내가 나를 위해서 만들었다.′고 말해 대는 거대한 용아!

▶ Say this to him: Thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am coming at you, Pharaoh, king of Egypt, Great crouching monster amidst your Niles: Who say, "The Niles are mine; it is I who made them!"

내가 갈고리로 네 턱을 꿰고 네 나일 강의 물고기들을 너의 비늘에 달라붙게 하여 너를 비늘에 달라붙은 나일 강의 물고기들과 함께 나일 강에서 끌어 올리리라.

▶ I will put hooks in your jaws and make the fish of your Niles stick to your scales, then draw you up from the midst of your Niles along with all the fish of your Niles sticking to your scales.

|
그리고 너와 나일 강의 물고기들을 모두 광야로 내동댕이치리니 너는 들판에 떨어져 아무도 너를 거두지도 모으지도 않으리라. 내가 땅의 짐승과 하늘의 새에게 너를 먹이로 준 것이다.

▶ I will cast you into the desert, you and all the fish of your Niles; You shall fall upon the open field, you shall not be taken up or buried; To the beasts of the earth and the birds of the air I give you as food,

그제야 이집트 주민들이 모두 내가 주님임을 알게 되리라. 너는 이스라엘 집안에게 갈대 지팡이밖에 되지 못하였다.

▶ That all who dwell in Egypt may know that I am the LORD. Because you have been a reed staff for the house of Israel:

그들이 손으로 너를 붙잡으면 너는 부러지면서 그들의 어깨를 찢고 그들이 너를 의지하면 너는 꺾어지면서 그들의 허리를 온통 휘청거리게 하였다.

▶ When they held you in hand, you splintered, throwing every shoulder out of joint; When they leaned on you, you broke, bringing each one of them down headlong;

그러므로 주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 나 이제 너에게 칼을 끌어들여, 너에게서 사람과 짐승을 잘라 내 버리겠다.

|
▶ therefore thus says the Lord GOD: See! I will bring the sword against you, and cut off from you both man and beast.
|

|
그러면 이집트 땅은 황무지와 폐허가 될 것이다. 그제야 그들은 내가 주님임을 알게 될 것이다. ′나일 강은 내 것이다. 내가 만들었다.′ 하고 너는 말하였다.

|
|
▶ The land of Egypt shall become a desolate waste; thus they shall know that I am the LORD. Because you said, "The Niles are mine; it is I who made them,"

그러므로 나 이제 너와 너의 나일 강을 대적하여, 이집트 땅을 믹돌에서 시에네까지, 에티오피아 국경에 이르기까지 폐허와 황량한 불모지로 만들어 버리겠다.

|
|
▶ therefore see! I am coming at you and against your Niles; I will make the land of Egypt a waste and a desolation from Migdol to Syene, and even to the frontier of Ethiopia.

|
그리하여 그 땅에는 사람의 발길도 끊어지고 짐승의 발길도 끊어진 채, 사십 년 동안 아무도 살지 않을 것이다.

|
|
▶ No foot of man or beast shall pass through it; they shall not pass through it, and it will be uninhabited for forty years.
|

|
나는 이집트 땅을 황폐한 땅 가운데에서도 가장 황폐한 곳으로 만들어 버리리니, 사십 년 동안 그 성읍들은 폐허가 된 성읍들 가운데에서도 가장 황폐한 곳이 될 것이다. 나는 또 이집트인들을 민족들 사이로 쫓아 버리고, 여러 나라로 흩어 버리겠다.

|
▶ I will make the land of Egypt the most desolate of lands, and its cities shall be the most deserted of cities for forty years; and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and strew them over foreign lands.
|

|
그러나 주 하느님이 또 이렇게 말한다. 사십 년이 지나면, 내가 이집트인들을 그들이 흩어져 사는 민족들에게서 모아들이겠다.

|
|
▶ Yet thus says the Lord GOD: At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the peoples among whom they are scattered,
|

|
나는 이집트인들의 운명을 되돌려, 그들을 파트로스 땅, 곧 그들의 고향 땅으로 되돌아가게 하겠다. 그곳에서 그들은 보잘것없는 왕국을 이룰 것이다.

|
|
▶ and I will restore Egypt's fortune, bringing them back to the land of Pathros, the land of their origin, where it will be the lowliest
|

|
그것은 왕국들 가운데 가장 보잘것없는 왕국으로서, 다시는 다른 민족들 위로 일어서지 못할 것이다. 나는 그들을 작게 만들어, 그들이 다른 민족들을 지배하지 못하게 하겠다.

|
|
▶ of kingdoms, never more to set itself above the nations. I will make them few, that they may not dominate the nations.
|
|

|
이집트는 이스라엘 집안이 자기에게 도움을 청하려고 몸을 돌려 지은 죄를 기억하게 할 것이다. 그리하여 다시는 이스라엘 집안에게 의지가 되지 못할 것이다. 그제야 그들은 내가 주 하느님임을 알게 될 것이다.’”

▶ No longer shall they be for the house of Israel to trust in, but the living reminder of its guilt for having turned to follow after them. Thus they shall know that I am the LORD.

▶ On the first day of the first month in the twenty-seventh year, the word of the LORD came to me:
|

“사람의 아들아, 바빌론 임금 네부카드네자르는 티로를 치려고 자기 군대에게 힘겨운 일을 시켰다. 모든 군사의 머리털이 빠지고 어깨가 벗겨지기까지 하였지만, 티로를 치려고 애쓴 일에 대한 보상을 그 자신도 그의 군대도 티로에서 받지 못하였다.

|
▶ Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, has led his army in an exhausting campaign against Tyre. Their heads became bald and their shoulders were galled; but neither he nor his army received any wages from Tyre for the campaign he led against it.

|
그러므로 주 하느님이 말한다. 나 이제 바빌론 임금 네부카드네자르에게 이집트 땅을 주겠다. 그러면 그는 이집트의 재물을 가져가고, 약탈질과 노략질을 하리니, 그것이 그의 군대에게 줄 보상이 될 것이다.

▶ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: I am now giving the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon. He shall carry off its riches, plundering and pillaging it for the wages of his soldiers, who did it for me;

그들이 나를 위하여 수고한 것이니, 그 일의 대가로 나는 이집트 땅을 네부카드네자르에게 넘겨준다. 주 하느님의 말이다.

▶ as payment for his toil I have given him the land of Egypt, says the Lord GOD.

|
그날에 나는 이스라엘 집안에 뿔이 돋게 하고, 그들 가운데에서 네 입을 열어 주겠다. 그제야 그들은 내가 주님임을 알게 될 것이다.”

▶ On that day I will make a horn sprout for the house of Israel, and I will cause you to speak out in their midst; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.
