Thus the word of the LORD came to me:

Son of man, you live in the midst of a rebellious house; they have eyes to see but do not see, and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious house.

▶ “사람의 아들아, 너는 반항의 집안 한가운데에서 살고 있다. 그들은 볼 눈이 있어도 보지 않고, 들을 귀가 있어도 듣지 않는다. 그들이 반항의 집안이기 때문이다.

|
Now, son of man, during the day while they are looking on, prepare your baggage as though for exile, and again while they are looking on, migrate from where you live to another place; perhaps they will see that they are a rebellious house.

▶ 그러니 너 사람의 아들아, 유배 짐을 꾸려 대낮에 그들이 보는 앞에서 유배를 가거라. 그들이 보는 앞에서 네가 사는 곳을 떠나 다른 곳으로 유배를 가거라. 행여 자기들이 반항의 집안임을 그들이 깨달을지도 모른다.

You shall bring out your baggage like an exile in the daytime while they are looking on; in the evening, again while they are looking on, you shall go out like one of those driven into exile;

▶ 너는 짐을 유배 짐처럼 싸서 대낮에 그들이 보는 앞에서 내어 놓았다가, 저녁에 그들이 보는 앞에서 유배를 떠나듯이 떠나라.

while they look on, dig a hole in the wall and pass through it;

|
while they look on, shoulder the burden and set out in the darkness; cover your face that you may not see the land, for I have made you a sign for the house of Israel.

▶ 너는 어두울 때에 그들이 보는 앞에서 짐을 어깨에 메고 나가는데, 얼굴을 가리고 땅을 보지 마라. 나는 너를 이스라엘 집안을 위한 예표로 삼았다.”

I did as I was told. During the day I brought out my baggage as though it were that of an exile, and at evening I dug a hole through the wall with my hand and, while they looked on, set out in the darkness, shouldering my burden.

▶ 나는 명령을 받은 대로 하였다. 짐을 유배 짐처럼 싸서 대낮에 내어 놓았다가, 저녁에 손으로 벽을 뚫고, 어두울 때에 그들이 보는 앞에서 짐을 어깨에 메고 나갔다.

Then, in the morning, the word of the LORD came to me:

Son of man, did not the house of Israel, that rebellious house, ask you what you were doing?

▶ “사람의 아들아, 저 반항의 집안인 이스라엘 집안이, ‘지금 무엇을 하고 있습니까?’ 하고 너에게 묻지 않았느냐?

Tell them: Thus says the Lord GOD: This oracle concerns Jerusalem and the whole house of Israel within it.

|
▶ 그들에게 말하여라. ‘주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 이 신탁은 예루살렘에 있는 수장과 그 안에 있는 온 이스라엘 집안에 관한 것이다.’

I am a sign for you: as I have done, so shall it be done to them; as captives they shall go into exile.

▶ 너는 또 말하여라. ‘나는 여러분을 위한 예표입니다. 내가 한 것과 똑같은 일이 그들에게 일어날 것입니다. 그들은 유배를 당해 끌려갈 것입니다.’

The prince who is among them shall shoulder his burden and set out in darkness, going through a hole that he has dug in the wall, and covering his face lest he be seen by anyone.

▶ 그들 가운데에 있는 수장은 어두울 때에 짐을 어깨에 메고, 사람들이 그를 내보내려고 벽에 뚫어 놓은 구멍으로 나갈 것이다. 그는 자기 눈으로 그 땅을 보지 않으려고 얼굴을 가릴 것이다.

|
But I will spread my net over him, and he shall be taken in my snare. I will bring him to Babylon, into the land of the Chaldeans - but he shall not see it - and there he shall die.

▶ 그러나 나는 그를 잡으려고 그물을 쳐 놓겠다. 내가 친 망에 걸리면, 나는 그를 칼데아인들의 땅 바빌론으로 끌어가겠다. 그러면 그는 거기에서 그 땅을 보지도 못하고 죽을 것이다.

|
All his retinue, his aides, and his troops I will scatter in every direction, and pursue them with the sword.

▶ 나는 또 그의 곁에 있는 자들, 그의 수행원들과 군대를 모두 사방으로 흩어 버린 다음, 칼을 빼 들고 그들을 뒤쫓겠다.

Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I disperse them among the nations and scatter them over foreign lands.

▶ 이렇게 내가 그들을 민족들 사이로 쫓아 버리고 여러 나라로 흩어 버릴 때에야, 그들은 내가 주님임을 알게 될 것이다.

|
Yet I will leave a few of them to escape the sword, famine and pestilence, so that they may tell of all their abominations among the nations to which they will come; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.
|

▶ 그러나 나는 그들 가운데 몇 사람을 남겨서 칼과 굶주림과 흑사병을 면하게 하여, 그들이 가 있는 민족들 사이에서 자기들이 전에 저지른 역겨운 짓들을 모두 이야기하게 하겠다. 그제야 그들은 내가 주님임을 알게 될 것이다.”

Son of man, eat your bread trembling, and drink your water shaking with anxiety.

▶ “사람의 아들아, 너는 떨면서 빵을 먹고 불안과 걱정에 싸여 물을 마셔라.

Then say to the people of the land: Thus says the Lord GOD of the inhabitants of Jerusalem (to the land of Israel): They shall eat their bread in anxiety and drink their water in horror, that their land may be emptied of the violence of all its inhabitants that now fills it.

▶ 그리고 이 땅의 백성에게 말하여라. ‘주 하느님이 이스라엘 땅에 사는 예루살렘 주민들에게 이렇게 말한다. 그들은 걱정에 싸여 빵을 먹고 놀라움에 싸여 물을 마실 것이다. 모든 주민이 저지른 폭행으로, 이 땅은 풍요가 사라지고 황폐해질 것이기 때문이다.

Inhabited cities shall be in ruins, and the land shall be a waste; thus you shall know that I am the LORD.

Son of man, what is this proverb that you have in the land of Israel: "The days drag on, and no vision ever comes to anything"?

▶ “사람의 아들아, ‘세월은 흐르는데 환시는 모두 그대로 지나간다.’ 하며 너희가 이스라엘 땅을 두고 말하는 속담은 어찌 된 일이냐?

|
Say to them therefore: Thus says the Lord GOD: I will put an end to this proverb; they shall never quote it again in Israel. Rather, say to them: The days are at hand, and also the fulfillment of every vision.
|

▶ 그러므로 그들에게 말하여라. ‘주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 나는 이 속담을 없애 버려, 이스라엘에서 다시는 이 속담을 말하지 못하게 하겠다.’ 그리고 그들에게 이렇게 일러라. ‘환시가 이루어질 날들이 가까웠다.

There shall no longer be any false visions or deceitful divinations within the house of Israel, because it is I, the LORD, who will speak.

Whatever I speak is final, and it shall be done without further delay. In your days, rebellious house, whatever I speak I will bring about, says the Lord GOD.

Son of man, listen to the house of Israel saying, "The vision he sees is a long way off; he prophesies of the distant future!"

▶ “사람의 아들아, 이스라엘 집안이 ‘그가 보는 환시는 먼 훗날을 위한 것이고, 그는 먼 앞날을 위해 예언할 따름이다.’ 하고 말한다.

Say to them therefore: Thus says the Lord GOD: None of my words shall be delayed any longer; whatever I speak is final, and it shall be done, says the Lord GOD.
