그리하여 그분께서 칼데아인들의 임금을 그들에게 올려 보내시어, 그들 성소의 집에서 젊은이들을 칼로 쳐 죽이게 하셨다. 그분께서는 젊은이도 처녀도, 나이 든 이도 노약한 이도 불쌍히 여기지 않으시고 모두 그 임금의 손에 넘기셨다.

▶ They burnt the house of God, tore down the walls of Jerusalem, set all its palaces afire, and destroyed all its precious objects.

그리고 칼데아 임금은 칼을 피하여 살아남은 자들을 바빌론으로 유배시켜, 그와 그 자손들의 종이 되게 하였는데, 이는 페르시아 제국이 통치할 때까지 계속되었다.
