|
의인들의 영혼은 하느님의 손안에 있어 어떠한 고통도 겪지 않을 것이다.

|
|
▶ But the souls of the just are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them.
|

|
어리석은 자들의 눈에는 의인들이 죽은 것처럼 보이고 그들의 말로가 고난으로 생각되며

|
|
|
▶ They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead; and their passing away was thought an affliction
|
|

|
우리에게서 떠나는 것이 파멸로 여겨지지만 그들은 평화를 누리고 있다.

|
|
|
|
|
▶ and their going forth from us, utter destruction. But they are in peace.
|

|
사람들이 보기에 의인들이 벌을 받는 것 같지만 그들은 불사의 희망으로 가득 차 있다.

▶ For if before men, indeed, they be punished, yet is their hope full of immortality;

|
그들은 단련을 조금 받은 뒤 은혜를 크게 얻을 것이다. 하느님께서 그들을 시험하시고 그들이 당신께 맞갖은 이들임을 아셨기 때문이다.

▶ Chastised a little, they shall be greatly blessed, because God tried them and found them worthy of himself.

그분께서는 용광로 속의 금처럼 그들을 시험하시고 번제물처럼 그들을 받아들이셨다.

▶ As gold in the furnace, he proved them, and as sacrificial offerings he took them to himself.

|
그분께서 그들을 찾아오실 때에 그들은 빛을 내고 그루터기들만 남은 밭의 불꽃처럼 퍼져 나갈 것이다.

▶ In the time of their visitation they shall shine, and shall dart about as sparks through stubble;

그들은 민족들을 통치하고 백성들을 지배할 것이며 주님께서는 그들을 영원히 다스리실 것이다.

|
|
▶ They shall judge nations and rule over peoples, and the LORD shall be their King forever.
|

|
주님을 신뢰하는 이들은 진리를 깨닫고 그분을 믿는 이들은 그분과 함께 사랑 속에 살 것이다. 은총과 자비가 주님의 거룩한 이들에게 주어지고 그분께서는 선택하신 이들을 돌보시기 때문이다.

▶ Those who trust in him shall understand truth, and the faithful shall abide with him in love: Because grace and mercy are with his holy ones, and his care is with the elect.

|
|
|
|
|
|
|

|
그러나 의인을 무시하고 주님을 거역한 악인들은 자기들이 생각한 것에 따라 벌을 받을 것이다.

|
▶ But the wicked shall receive a punishment to match their thoughts, since they neglected justice and forsook the LORD.
|

|
지혜와 교훈을 업신여기는 자는 불쌍하다. 그들의 희망은 헛되고 노동은 벌이가 되지 않으며 그들의 작업은 결실이 없다.

|
|
▶ For he who despises wisdom and instruction is doomed. Vain is their hope, fruitless are their labors, and worthless are their works.
|

그 아내들은 어리석고 자식들은 사악하며 후손들은 저주를 받는다.

|
|
▶ Their wives are foolish and their children wicked; accursed is their brood.

▶ B. ON CHILDLESSNESS

|
행복하여라, 자식을 낳지 못해도 정결한 여자! 죄 되는 잠자리에 들지 않은 여자! 하느님께서 영혼들을 찾아오실 때에 그는 결실을 볼 것이다.

|
|
|
▶ Yes, blessed is she who, childless and undefiled, knew not transgression of the marriage bed; she shall bear fruit at the visitation of souls.

|
제 손으로 무도한 짓을 저지르지 않고 주님께 악한 것을 생각해 내지 않는 고자도 행복하여라. 그는 자기의 믿음 덕분에 특별한 은총을 받고 주님의 성전에서 아주 흡족한 몫을 받을 것이다.

▶ So also the eunuch whose hand wrought no misdeed, who held no wicked thoughts against the LORD - For he shall be given fidelity's choice reward and a more gratifying heritage in the LORD'S temple.

좋은 노력의 결과는 영광스럽고 예지의 뿌리는 소멸되지 않는다.

▶ For the fruit of noble struggles is a glorious one; and unfailing is the root of understanding.

|
간음의 소생들은 크지 못하고 부정한 잠자리에서 생긴 자식들은 망하고 만다.

|
|
▶ But the children of adulterers will remain without issue, and the progeny of an unlawful bed will disappear.
|

|
오래 산다 하여도 그들은 아무것도 아닌 것으로 여겨지고 결국은 나이가 많음도 그들에게는 영예롭지 못하다.

▶ For should they attain long life, they will be held in no esteem, and dishonored will their old age be at last;

일찍 죽는다 하여도 희망이 없고 심판 날에 아무 위안도 받지 못할 것이다.

|
|
|
▶ While should they die abruptly, they have no hope nor comfort in the day of scrutiny;
|
|
19
|
불의한 족속의 끝은 이처럼 비참하다.

▶ for dire is the end of the wicked generation.
