▶ On the first day of the twelfth month in the twelfth year, the word of the LORD came to me:

“사람의 아들아, 이집트 임금 파라오를 위하여 애가를 불러라. 그에게 말하여라. ‘민족들의 사자야, 네가 망하고 말았다. 너는 한때 바다의 용과 같았다. 너의 강에서 물을 솟구치게 하고 발로 물을 휘저어 네 강의 물을 더럽혔다.

▶ Son of man, utter a lament over Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, saying to him: Lion of the nations, you are destroyed. You were like a monster in the sea, spouting in your streams, Stirring the water with your feet and churning its streams.

주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 많은 민족들이 모인 곳에서 내가 너에게 그물을 던지리니 그들이 내가 씌운 그 망으로 너를 끌어 올리리라.

▶ Thus says the Lord GOD: I will spread my net over you (with a host of many nations), and draw you up in my seine.

그러면 나는 너를 땅바닥에 내던지고 들판에 내동댕이치고서는 하늘의 모든 새가 네 위로 내려앉고 온 땅의 짐승이 너를 배불리 뜯어 먹게 하리라.

▶ I will leave you on the land; on the open field I will cast you. I will have all the birds of the air alight on you, and all the beasts of the earth eat their fill of you.

너의 살점을 이 산 저 산으로 흩어 버리고 골짜기들을 네 주검 더미로 가득 채우며

▶ I will leave your flesh on the mountains, and fill the valleys with your carcass.
|

|
너에게서 흐르는 피로 산 위까지 땅을 흠뻑 적시리니 골짜기마다 네 피로 가득하리라.

|
|
▶ I will water the land with what flows from you, and the river beds shall be filled with your blood.
|

|
내가 너의 빛을 끄는 날 나는 하늘을 가리고 그 별들을 어둡게 하리라. 해는 구름에 가리고 달은 제빛을 내지 못하게 하리라.

▶ When I snuff you out I will cover the heavens, and all their stars I will darken; The sun I will cover with clouds, and the moon shall not give its light.

하늘에서 빛을 내는 모든 빛물체를 너 때문에 어둡게 하고 네 땅을 어둠으로 덮으리라. 주 하느님의 말이다.

▶ All the shining lights in the heavens I will darken on your account, And I will spread darkness over your land, says the Lord GOD.

내가 여러 백성 사이로, 네가 모르는 여러 나라에 너를 포로로 끌고 갈 때, 나는 많은 민족들의 마음을 슬프게 하겠다.

|
▶ I will grieve the hearts of many peoples when I lead you captive among the nations, to lands which you do not know.
|

|
그들의 얼굴에 대고 내 칼을 휘두를 때, 나는 많은 민족들을 너 때문에 질겁하게 하고, 그들의 임금들을 너 때문에 몸서리치게 하겠다. 네 파멸의 날에 그들은 저마다 목숨을 잃을까 줄곧 떨 것이다.

▶ Many peoples shall be appalled at you, and their kings shall shudder over you in horror when they see me brandish my sword, and on the day of your downfall every one of them shall continuously tremble for his own life.

주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 바빌론 임금의 칼이 너에게 쳐들어가리라.

▶ For thus says the Lord GOD: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon you.
|

|
나는 너의 무리를 용사들의 칼로 쓰러뜨리리라. 그들은 모두 가장 잔혹한 민족들, 그들이 이집트의 자랑을 파멸시켜 이집트의 모든 무리가 멸망하리라.

|
|
▶ I will cut down your horde with the blades of warriors, all of them the most ruthless of the nations; They shall lay waste the glory of Egypt, and all her hordes shall be destroyed.

|
나는 그 큰 물 가에서 이집트의 모든 짐승을 없애 버리리라. 다시는 사람의 발이 그 물을 휘젓지 않고 짐승의 발굽도 그것을 휘젓지 않으리라.

▶ I will have all of her animals perish beside her abundant waters; The foot of man shall stir them no longer, nor shall the hoof of beast disturb them.

|
그 뒤에야 나는 그들의 물을 가라앉혀 그들의 강을 기름처럼 흐르게 하리라. 주 하느님의 말이다.

▶ Then will I make their waters clear, and their streams flow like oil, says the Lord GOD.
|

|
내가 이집트 땅을 황무지로 만들고 그 땅이 그 안에 가득한 것을 빼앗긴 채 황폐하게 되면 또 내가 그 땅에 사는 모든 사람을 치면 그제야 그들은 내가 주님임을 알게 되리라.

▶ When I turn Egypt into a waste, the land shall be devastated of all that is in it; when I strike all who live there, they shall know that I am the LORD.
|

|
이것이 그들이 부를 애가다. 민족들의 딸들이 부르리라. 이집트와 그 무리를 위하여 이 애가를 부르리라. 주 하느님의 말이다.’”

▶ This is a dirge, and it shall be sung: the daughters of the nations shall chant it; over Egypt and all its hordes shall they chant it, says the Lord GOD.

“사람의 아들아, 이집트의 무리 때문에 슬피 울며 그 이집트 무리와 막강한 민족들의 딸들을 구렁으로 내려가는 자들과 함께 저 밑 세상으로 내려 보내라.

▶ Son of man, lament over the throngs of Egypt, for the mighty nations have thrust them down to the bottom of the earth, with those who go down into the pit.

‘네가 누구보다 아름답다는 것이냐? 내려가라. 할례 받지 않은 자들과 함께 누워라.’

▶ "Whom do you excel in beauty?

|

▶ In the midst of those slain by the sword shall they fall, and place shall be made with them for all their hordes. Then from the midst of the nether world, the mighty warriors shall speak to Egypt:

저승 한가운데에서 용사들의 수령들이 부하들과 함께 말하리라. ‘저 할례 받지 않은 자들이, 칼로 살해된 자들이 내려와서 누웠구나.’

▶ Come down, you and your allies, lie with the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword."

그곳에는 아시리아가 있고 그의 온 집단도 그 둘레에 무덤을 파고 누웠는데 모두 살해된 자들 칼에 맞아 쓰러진 자들이다.

▶ There is Assyria with all her company, all of them slain,

아시리아의 무덤은 구렁의 가장 깊은 곳에 마련되었고 그의 집단도 그 무덤 둘레에 누웠는데 모두 살해된 자들 칼에 맞아 쓰러진 자들 산 이들의 땅에 공포를 퍼뜨리던 자들이다.

▶ whose graves have been made in the recesses of the pit; her company is around Egypt's grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who spread terror in the land of the living.

그곳에는 엘람이 있고 그의 온 무리도 그 무덤 둘레에 누웠는데 모두 살해된 자들 칼에 맞아 쓰러진 자들 할례 받지 않은 채 저 밑 세상으로 내려간 자들이다. 그들은 산 이들의 땅에 공포를 퍼뜨렸지만 이제는 구렁으로 내려간 자들과 함께 수치를 당하고 있다.

▶ There is Elam with all her throng about Egypt's grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword: they have gone down uncircumcised to the bottom of the earth, who spread their terror in the land of the living, and they bear their disgrace with those who go down into the pit;

엘람의 자리는 살해된 자들 한가운데에 마련되어 그의 온 무리도 엘람의 무덤 둘레에 누웠는데 모두 할례 받지 않은 자들 칼로 살해된 자들이다. 그들에 대한 공포가 산 이들의 땅에 퍼졌기 때문이다. 그러나 이제 그들은 구렁으로 내려간 자들과 함께 수치를 당한 채 살해된 자들 한가운데에 놓여 있다.

▶ There are Meshech and Tubal and all their throng about her grave, all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword, for they spread their terror in the land of the living.

|
그들은 옛날에 쓰러진 용사들과 함께 눕지 못한다. 그 용사들은 자기 무기를 가지고 저승으로 내려간 이들. 머리 밑에는 그들의 칼이 놓이고 유골 위에는 그들의 방패가 덮여 있다. 그 용사들에 대한 공포가 산 이들의 땅에 퍼져 있기 때문이다.

▶ They do not lie with the mighty men fallen of old, who went down to the nether world with their weapons of war, whose swords were placed under their heads and whose shields were laid over their bones, though the mighty men caused terror in the land of the living.

이제 너는 할례 받지 않은 자들 가운데에 부서진 채 칼로 살해된 자들과 함께 누우리라.

▶ But in the midst of the uncircumcised shall you lie, with those slain by the sword.
|

그곳에는 에돔도 있다. 그 임금들과 제후들이 그토록 용맹하였지만, 칼로 살해된 자들과 함께 있다. 그들은 할례 받지 않은 자들과, 구렁으로 내려간 자들과 함께 누워 있다.

▶ There are Edom, her kings, and all her princes, who despite their might have been placed with those slain by the sword; with the uncircumcised they lie, and with those who go down into the pit.

|
그곳에는 북방의 제후들도 있다. 그 제후들은 공포를 퍼뜨렸지만 자기들의 그 용맹을 부끄러워하며, 살해된 자들과 더불어 거기로 내려간 모든 시돈인과 함께 있다. 그들은 칼로 살해된 자들과 함께 할례 받지 않은 채 누워, 구렁으로 내려간 자들과 더불어 수치를 당하고 있다.

▶ There are all the princes of the north and all the Sidonians, who have gone down with the slain, because of the terror their might inspired; they lie uncircumcised with those slain by the sword and bear their disgrace with those who go down to the pit.

이들을 보고 파라오는 자기의 모든 무리에 대하여 위로를 받을 것이다. 파라오와 그의 모든 군대가 칼로 살해된 것이다. 주 하느님의 말이다.

▶ When Pharaoh sees these, he shall be comforted for all his hordes slain by the sword - Pharaoh and all his army, says the Lord GOD.

▶ Since he spread his terror in the land of the living, therefore is he laid to rest among the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword - Pharaoh and all his hordes, says the Lord GOD.
