▶ Then he brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary, facing the east; but it was closed.

그때 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다. “이 문은 잠가 둔 채, 열어서는 안 된다. 아무도 이 문으로 들어와서는 안 된다. 주 이스라엘의 하느님이 이곳으로 들어왔기 때문이다. 그래서 잠겨 있어야 한다.

▶ He said to me: This gate is to remain closed; it is not to be opened for anyone to enter by it; since the LORD, the God of Israel, has entered by it, it shall remain closed.

다만 제후는, 그가 제후이므로 여기에 앉아 주님 앞에서 음식을 먹을 수 있다. 그는 대문 현관 쪽으로 들어왔다가, 다시 그 길로 나가야 한다.”

▶ Only the prince may sit down in it to eat his meal in the presence of the LORD. He must enter by way of the vestibule of the gate, and leave by the same way.

|
그는 다시 나를 데리고 북쪽 대문을 지나 주님의 집 앞으로 갔는데, 내가 보니, 주님의 집이 주님의 영광으로 가득 차 있었다. 그래서 나는 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드렸다.

▶ Then he brought me by way of the north gate to the facade of the temple, and when I looked I saw the glory of the LORD filling the LORD'S temple, and I fell prone.

그때 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다. “사람의 아들아, 내가 주님 집의 모든 규정과 법과 관련해서 너에게 일러 주는 것을 모두 명심하여, 눈으로 잘 보고 귀로 잘 들어라. 그리고 주님의 집으로 들어오는 곳과 성전에서 나가는 모든 곳을 명심하여라.

▶ Then he said to me: Son of man, pay strict attention, look carefully, and listen intently to all that I will tell you about the statutes and laws of the LORD'S temple; be attentive in regard to those who are to be admitted to the temple and all those who are to be excluded from the sanctuary.

저 반항의 집안인 이스라엘 집안에게 말하여라. ‘주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 이스라엘 집안아, 너희는 온갖 역겨운 짓을 많이도 저질렀다.

▶ Say to that rebellious house, the house of Israel: Thus says the Lord GOD: Enough of all these abominations of yours, O house of Israel!

너희는 마음에 할례를 받지 않고 몸에도 할례를 받지 않은 이방인들을 들여보내어, 내 성전에 머무르면서 나의 집을 더럽히게 하였다. 너희는 나에게 음식, 곧 굳기름과 피를 바치면서, 이렇게 온갖 역겨운 짓을 하여, 나의 계약을 깨뜨렸다.

▶ You have admitted foreigners, uncircumcised both in heart and flesh, to my sanctuary to profane it when you offered me food, fat, and blood; thus you have broken my covenant by all your abominations.

너희는 나의 거룩한 물건들과 관련된 직무를 수행하지 않고, 나의 성전에서 너희 대신 이방인들이 나를 위한 직무를 수행하게 하였다.

▶ Instead of caring for the service of my temple, you have appointed such as these to serve me in my sanctuary in your stead.

주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 마음에 할례를 받지 않고 몸에도 할례를 받지 않은 이방인은 누구도 내 성전에 들어올 수 없다. 이스라엘 자손들 가운데에 사는 어떤 이방인도 마찬가지다.’

▶ Thus says the Lord GOD: No foreigners, uncircumcised in heart and in flesh, shall ever enter my sanctuary; none of the foreigners who live among the Israelites.

|
‘레위인들은 이스라엘이 나를 떠나 자기들의 우상들을 좇으며 헤맬 때, 나에게서 멀리 떠나갔기 때문에, 그 죗값을 짊어져야 한다.

|
▶ But as for the Levites who departed from me when Israel strayed from me to pursue their idols, they shall bear the consequences of their sin.

|
그들은 이제 나의 성전에서, 주님의 집 문지기 일을 하고, 주님의 집에서 시중드는 일을 하게 된다. 그들은 백성에게 번제물과 다른 희생 제물을 잡아 주고, 백성의 시중을 들기 위하여 그들 앞에 준비하고 서 있어야 한다.

▶ They shall serve in my sanctuary as gatekeepers and temple servants; they shall slaughter the holocausts and the sacrifices for the people, and they shall stand before the people to minister for them.

레위인들은 백성이 섬기는 우상들 앞에서 그들의 시중을 들어, 이스라엘 집안을 죄짓게 하는 걸림돌이 되었기 때문에, 나는 그들을 거슬러 손을 들고 맹세하였다. 주 하느님의 말이다. 그들은 자기들의 죗값을 짊어져야 한다.

▶ Because they used to minister for them before their idols, and became an occasion of sin to the house of Israel, therefore I have sworn an oath against them, says the Lord GOD: they shall bear the consequences of their sin.

그들은 사제직을 수행하러 나에게 다가오지 못하고, 나의 모든 거룩한 제물, 곧 가장 거룩한 것들에 다가가지 못한다. 이렇게 그들은 수치와 더불어, 자기들이 저지른 역겨운 짓들의 결과를 짊어져야 한다.

▶ They shall no longer draw near me to serve as my priests, nor shall they touch any of my sacred things, or the most sacred things. Thus they shall bear their disgrace because of all their abominable deeds.

‘이스라엘 자손들이 나를 떠나 헤맬 때, 차독의 자손들인 레위인 사제들은 내 성전의 직무를 준수하였으므로, 나에게 가까이 나아와 나를 섬기고, 내 앞에 서서 나에게 굳기름과 피를 바칠 수 있다. 주 하느님의 말이다.

▶ As for the levitical priests, however, the Zadokites who cared for my sanctuary when the Israelites strayed from me, they shall draw near me to minister to me, and they shall stand before me to offer me fat and blood, says the Lord GOD.

그들은 내 성전에 들어올 수 있고, 내 상에 가까이 와서 나를 섬길 수 있으며, 나를 위한 직무를 수행할 수 있다.

▶ It is they who shall enter my sanctuary, they who shall approach my table to minister to me, and they who shall carry out my service.

|
그러나 그들이 안뜰 대문으로 들어올 때에는, 아마포 옷을 입어야 한다. 안뜰 대문 안에서나 주님의 집 안에서 예식을 거행할 때, 양털 옷을 걸쳐서는 안 된다.

▶ Whenever they enter the gates of the inner court, they shall wear linen garments; they shall not put on anything woolen when they minister at the gates of the inner court or within the temple.

머리에는 아마포 쓰개를 쓰고, 허리에도 아마포 속바지를 입어야 하며, 땀이 나게 하는 띠를 둘러서는 안 된다.

▶ They shall have linen turbans on their heads and linen drawers on their loins; they shall not gird themselves with anything that causes sweat.

|
바깥뜰로 백성에게 나갈 때에는, 예식을 거행할 때에 입었던 옷을 벗어 거룩한 방에 두고, 다른 옷으로 갈아입어야 한다. 그렇게 하여 사제들은 자기들의 옷으로 백성을 신성한 기운에 닿게 하는 일이 없어야 한다.

|
▶ When they are to go out to the people in the outer court, they shall take off the garments in which they ministered and leave them in the chambers of the sanctuary, putting on other garments; thus they will not transmit holiness to the people with their garments.

|
그리고 사제들은 머리를 밀어서도 안 되고, 머리카락이 길게 자라도록 내버려 두어서도 안 된다. 그들은 머리를 잘 손질해야 한다.

▶ They shall not shave their heads nor let their hair hang loose, but they shall keep their hair carefully trimmed.

▶ No priest shall drink wine when he is to enter the inner court.

|
그들은 이스라엘 집안 후손의 처녀가 아니면, 과부나 소박맞은 여자를 아내로 맞아들여서는 안 된다. 그러나 사제의 과부는 맞아들일 수 있다.

|
|
▶ They shall not take for their wives either widows or divorced women, but only virgins of the race of Israel; however, they may marry women who are the widows of priests.

|
사제들은 거룩한 것과 속된 것을 구별하도록 내 백성을 가르치고, 부정한 것과 정결한 것을 구별하도록 그들을 깨우쳐 주어야 한다.

|
|
|
▶ They shall teach my people to distinguish between the sacred and the profane, and make known to them the difference between the clean and the unclean.

|
소송이 일어나면, 판관으로 나서서 내 법규들에 따라 판결을 내려야 한다. 또한 나의 모든 축일에 나의 법과 규정들을 준수하고, 나의 안식일을 거룩히 지내야 한다.

▶ In capital cases they shall stand as judges, judging them according to my decrees. They shall observe my laws and statutes on all my festivals, and keep my sabbaths holy.

|
사제들은 죽은 이에게 다가가서 자신을 부정하게 만들어서는 안 된다. 그러나 아버지나 어머니, 아들이나 딸, 형제나 시집가지 않은 누이를 위해서는 자신을 부정하게 만들어도 된다.

▶ They shall not make themselves unclean by coming near any dead person, unless it be their father, mother, son, daughter, brother, or maiden sister; for these they may make themselves unclean.

▶ and on the day he enters the inner court to minister in the sanctuary, he shall present his sin offering, says the Lord GOD.

사제들에게는 상속 재산이 있다. 내가 바로 그들의 상속 재산이다. 너희는 이스라엘에서 어떤 소유지도 그들에게 주어서는 안 된다. 내가 바로 그들의 소유지다.

▶ They shall have no inheritance, for I am their inheritance; you shall give them no property in Israel, for I am their property.

그들은 곡식 제물과 속죄 제물과 보상 제물을 먹는다. 또 이스라엘에서 바치는 완전 봉헌물은 모두 그들의 것이 된다.

▶ They shall eat the cereal offering, the sin offering, and the guilt offering; whatever is under the ban in Israel shall be theirs.

온갖 종류의 모든 맏물 가운데에서 가장 좋은 것, 너희가 바치는 온갖 종류의 예물은 모두 사제들의 것이 된다. 너희는 반죽한 것 가운데에서 가장 좋은 것을 사제에게 주어, 네 집에 복이 내리게 하여라.

▶ All the choicest first fruits of every kind, and all the best of your offerings of every kind, shall belong to the priests; likewise the best of your dough you shall give to the priests to bring a blessing down upon your house.

사제들은 새나 짐승 가운데에 저절로 죽은 것이나 맹수에게 찢겨서 죽은 것은 어떤 것도 먹어서는 안 된다.’

▶ The priests shall not eat anything, whether flesh or fowl, that has died of itself or has been killed by wild beasts.
