Thus the word of the LORD came to me:

|
Son of man, turn toward the Ammonites and prophesy against them.
|

|
▶ “사람의 아들아, 암몬인들에게 얼굴을 돌리고 그들을 거슬러 예언하여라.
|
|

|
Say to the Ammonites: Hear the word of the LORD! Thus says the Lord GOD: Because you cried out your joy over the desecration of my sanctuary, the devastation of the land of Israel, and the exile of the house of Judah,

▶ 암몬인들에게 말하여라. ‘주 하느님의 말을 들어라. 주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 너는 나의 성소가 더럽혀졌을 때에 ′아하!′ 하고 소리 지르고, 이스라엘 땅이 황폐해졌을 때에도, 이스라엘 집안이 유배를 떠날 때에도 그러하였다.

therefore I will deliver you into the possession of the Easterners. They shall set up their encampments among you and pitch their tents; they shall eat your fruits and drink your milk.

▶ 그러므로 나 이제 너를 동방인들에게 소유로 넘겨주겠다. 그들은 네 땅에 촌락을 세워 거처를 마련하고는, 너의 열매를 먹고 너의 우유를 마실 것이다.

I will make Rabbah a pasture for camels, and the villages of the Ammonites a resting place for flocks. Thus you shall know that I am the LORD.

▶ 나는 또 라빠를 낙타 목장으로, 암몬의 성읍들을 양 우리로 만들어 버리겠다. 그제야 너희는 내가 주님임을 알게 될 것이다.

For thus says the Lord GOD: Because you clapped your hands and stamped your feet, rejoicing most maliciously in your heart over the land of Israel,

▶ 정녕 주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 너는 이스라엘 땅을 두고 손뼉을 치고 발을 구르며, 악의에 가득 찬 마음으로 기뻐하였다.

therefore I will stretch out my hand against you. I will make you plunder for the nations, I will cut you off from the peoples, and remove you from the lands. I will destroy you, and thus you shall know that I am the LORD.

▶ 그러므로 나 이제 너에게 손을 뻗어 너를 민족들의 약탈품으로 내놓겠다. 너를 민족들에게서 잘라 버리고 나라들 가운데에서 멸망시켜, 너를 전멸시켜 버리겠다. 그제야 너는 내가 주님임을 알게 될 것이다.’”

Thus says the Lord GOD: Because Moab said, "See! the house of Judah is like all other nations,"

▶ 주 하느님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. “모압과 세이르는 ‘보아라, 유다 집안도 다른 모든 민족들과 다르지 않다.’고 말하였다.

|
therefore I will clear the shoulder of Moab totally of its cities, the jewels of the land: Beth-jesimoth, Baalmeon, and Kiriathaim.

▶ 그러므로 나 이제 모압의 옆쪽을, 그 국경에 있는 성읍들, 곧 그 나라의 자랑인 벳 여시못, 바알 므온, 키르야타임부터 열어젖히겠다.

|
I will hand her over, along with the Ammonites, into the possession of the Easterners, that she may not be remembered among the peoples.

▶ 나는 모압을 암몬인들과 함께 동방인들에게 소유로 넘겨주겠다. 암몬인들이 민족들 사이에서 더 이상 기억되지 않게 하겠다.

Thus I will execute judgment upon Moab, that they may know that I am the LORD.
|

Thus says the Lord GOD: Because Edom has taken vengeance on the house of Judah and has made itself grievously guilty by taking vengeance on them,

▶ 주 하느님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. “에돔은 복수심을 품고 유다 집안에게 보복하였다. 그들에게 복수하여 큰 죄를 지었다.

|
therefore thus says the Lord GOD: I will stretch out my hand against Edom and cut off from it man and beast. I will make it a waste from Teman to Dedan; they shall fall by the sword.
|

|
▶ 그러므로 주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 나는 에돔에게 손을 뻗어 그 땅에서 사람과 짐승을 잘라 내어 폐허로 만들어 버리겠다. 테만에서 드단까지 사람들이 칼에 맞아 쓰러질 것이다.

My vengeance upon Edom I will entrust to my people Israel, who will deal with Edom in accordance with my anger and my fury; thus they shall know my vengeance, says the Lord GOD.

▶ 내 백성 이스라엘의 손으로 에돔에게 원수를 갚겠다. 내 분노와 내 화에 따라 에돔에게 보복하겠다. 그러면 그들이 나의 복수를 알게 될 것이다. 주 하느님의 말이다.”

Thus says the Lord GOD: Because the Philistines have acted revengefully, and have taken vengeance with destructive malice in their hearts, with an undying enmity,

▶ 주 하느님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. “필리스티아인들은 복수심에 차서 보복하였다. 옛날부터 품어 온 적개심으로 다 파괴해 버리려고, 악의에 가득 찬 마음으로 복수를 자행하였다.

therefore thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am stretching out my hand against the Philistines; I will cut off the Cherethites and wipe out the remnant on the seacoast.

▶ 그러므로 주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 나 이제 필리스티아인들에게 손을 뻗어 이 크렛인들을 잘라 버리고, 바닷가에 살아남은 자들도 멸망시키겠다.

I will execute great acts of vengeance on them, punishing them furiously. Thus they shall know that I am the LORD, when I wreak my vengeance on them.
