이스라엘아, 기뻐하지 마라. 다른 민족들처럼 기뻐 뛰지 마라. 너희는 너희 하느님을 떠나 불륜을 저지르고 모든 곡식 타작마당에서 해웃값 받기를 좋아하였다. |

Rejoice not, O Israel, exult not like the nations! For you have been unfaithful to your God, loving a harlot's hire upon every threshing floor. |

그러나 타작마당과 포도 확은 그들을 먹이지 못하고 햇포도주는 그들을 속이고 말리라. |

Threshing floor and wine press shall not nourish them, the new wine shall fail them. |
| 3 |
주님의 땅에서 그들은 살 수 없으리라. 에프라임은 이집트로 돌아가고 아시리아에서 부정한 음식을 먹으리라. |

They shall not dwell in the LORD'S land; Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and in Assyria they shall eat unclean food. |

그들은 주님께 포도주를 부어 드릴 수 없고 그들의 희생 제물도 그분께 달갑지 않으리라. 그것은 초상집 음식과 같아 그것을 먹는 자마다 부정하게 되리라. 그들의 음식은 저희 목구멍을 위한 것일 뿐 주님의 집에는 들여갈 수 없다. |

They shall not pour libations of wine to the LORD, or proffer their sacrifices before him. Theirs will be like mourners' bread, that makes unclean all who eat of it; Such food as they have shall be for themselves; it cannot enter the house of the LORD. |

그러니 축일과 주님의 축제일에 너희는 어떻게 하려느냐? |

What will you do on the festival day, the day of the LORD'S feast? |

보라, 그들이 파멸을 피해 간다 하여도 이집트가 그들을 모아들이고 멤피스가 그들을 묻으리라. 은으로 된 그들의 보화는 쐐기풀이 차지하고 엉겅퀴가 그들의 천막에 들어앉으리라. |

When they go from the ruins, Egypt shall gather them in, Memphis shall bury them. Weeds shall overgrow their silver treasures, and thorns invade their tents. |

징벌의 날이 왔다. 보복의 날이 왔다. 이스라엘이 소리친다. “저 예언자는 어리석다. 영을 받은 저 사람은 미쳤다.” 네 죄악이 커서 적대심도 그렇게 큰 것이다. |

They have come, the days of punishment! they have come, the days of recompense! Let Israel know it! "The prophet is a fool, the man of the spirit is mad!" Because your iniquity is great, great, too, is your hostility. |

예언자는 나의 하느님을 위한 에프라임의 파수꾼. 그러나 그가 가는 길마다 새잡이 그물이 쳐 있고 적대심이 그 예언자의 하느님 집에까지 자리 잡고 있다. |

A prophet is Ephraim's watchman with God, yet a fowler's snare is on all his ways, hostility in the house of his God. |
| 9 |
기브아의 그때처럼 그들은 깊이 타락하였다. 그분께서는 그들의 죄악을 기억하시고 그들의 죄를 벌하시리라. |

They have sunk to the depths of corruption, as in the days of Gibeah; He shall remember their iniquity and punish their sins. |

내가 처음 만났을 때 이스라엘은 광야의 포도송이 같았다. 내가 처음 보았을 때 너희 조상들은 첫 절기의 무화과나무 맏물 같았다. 그러나 바알 프오르에 이르자 그들은 우상에 몸을 바쳐 저희가 사랑하던 것처럼 혐오스럽게 되어 버렸다. |

Like grapes in the desert, I found Israel; Like the first fruits of the fig tree in its prime, I considered your fathers. When they came to Baal-peor and consecrated themselves to the Shame, they became as abhorrent as the thing they loved. |

에프라임의 영광은 새처럼 날아가 버려 더 이상 출산도 임신도 수태도 없으리라. |

The glory of Ephraim flies away like a bird: no birth, no carrying in the womb, no conception. Were they to bear children, I would slay the darlings of their womb. |
| 12 |
그들이 자식들을 기른다 하여도 나는 한 사람도 남김없이 앗아 가 버리리라. 내가 그들에게서 떠날 때 그들은 진정 불행하게 되리라. |

Even though they bring up their children, I will make them childless, till not one is left. Woe to them when I turn away from them! |

제가 보기에 에프라임은 풀밭에 심긴 티로와 같았습니다. 그러나 이제 에프라임은 제 자식들을 도살자에게 끌고 가야 합니다. |

Ephraim, as I saw, was like Tyre, planted in a beauteous spot; But Ephraim shall bring out his children to the slayer. |
| 14 |
주님, 그들에게 주십시오. 무엇을 주시렵니까? 아이 배지 못하는 태를, 말라붙은 젖가슴을 주십시오. |

Give them, O LORD! give them what? Give them an unfruitful womb, and dry breasts! |

그들의 모든 악이 길갈에서 드러나 그곳에서 내가 그들을 미워하게 되었다. 그들의 악한 행실 때문에 나는 그들을 내 집에서 쫓아내리라. 나는 더 이상 그들을 사랑하지 않으리라. 그들의 대신들은 모두 반항이나 하는 것들. |

All their wickedness is in Gilgal; yes, there they incurred my hatred. Because of their wicked deeds I will drive them out of my house. I will love them no longer; all their princes are rebels. |

에프라임은 찍히고 뿌리가 말라 열매를 맺지 못하리라. 그들이 자식들을 낳는다 하여도 나는 그들의 태에서 나온 그 소중한 것들을 죽이리라. |

Ephraim is stricken, their root is dried up; they shall bear no fruit. |

그들이 그분의 말씀을 듣지 않았으니 나의 하느님께서 그들을 배척하시리라. 그리하여 그들은 민족들 사이에서 떠돌이가 되리라. |
17 |
My God will disown them because they have not listened to him; they shall be wanderers among the nations. |
