▶ Then Moses, with the elders of Israel, gave the people this order: "Keep all these commandments which I enjoin on you today.

너희가 요르단을 건너 주 너희 하느님께서 너희에게 주시는 땅에 들어가는 날, 너희는 큰 돌들을 세우고 거기에 석회를 발라야 한다.

▶ On the day you cross the Jordan into the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you, set up some large stones and coat them with plaster.
|

|
그리고 너희가 건너가거든 이 율법의 모든 말씀을 그 돌들 위에 써야 한다. 그래야 주 너희 조상들의 하느님께서 너희에게 말씀하신 대로, 주 너희 하느님께서 너희에게 주시는 땅, 곧 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅에 들어가게 될 것이다.

▶ Also write on them, at the time you cross, all the words of this law, that you may thus enter into the land flowing with milk and honey, which the LORD, your God, and the God of your fathers, is giving you as he promised you.

▶ When, moreover, you have crossed the Jordan, besides setting up on Mount Ebal these stones concerning which I command you today, and coating them with plaster,

그리고 그곳에 주 너희 하느님을 위하여 제단을, 곧 쇠 연장을 대지 않은 돌로 제단을 만들어야 한다.

▶ you shall also build to the LORD, your God, an altar made of stones that no iron tool has touched.
|

너희는 다듬지 않은 돌로 주 너희 하느님을 위하여 제단을 만들고, 그 위에서 주 너희 하느님께 번제물을 바쳐야 한다.

▶ You shall make this altar of the LORD, your God, with undressed stones, and shall offer on it holocausts to the LORD, your God.
|

또 너희는 친교 제물을 바치고 거기에서 먹으며 주 너희 하느님 앞에서 기뻐하여라.

▶ You shall also sacrifice peace offerings and eat them there, making merry before the LORD, your God.

|
그리고 돌들 위에 이 율법의 모든 말씀을 분명하게 써야 한다.”

▶ On the stones you shall inscribe all the words of this law very clearly."

모세와 레위인 사제들이 온 이스라엘에게 일렀다. “이스라엘아, 조용히 하고 들어라. 오늘 너희는 주 너희 하느님의 백성이 되었다.

▶ Moses, with the levitical priests, then said to all Israel: "Be silent, O Israel, and listen! This day you have become the people of the LORD, your God.

그러므로 주 너희 하느님의 소리를 듣고, 내가 오늘 너희에게 명령하는 그분의 계명과 규정들을 실천해야 한다.”

▶ You shall therefore hearken to the voice of the LORD, your God, and keep his commandments and statutes which I enjoin on you today."

▶ When you cross the Jordan, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin shall stand on Mount Gerizim to pronounce blessings over the people,

그리고 저주하기 위하여 에발 산에 서야 할 지파들은 르우벤, 가드, 아세르, 즈불룬, 단, 납탈리이다.”

▶ while Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali shall stand on Mount Ebal to pronounce curses.

‘주님께서 역겨워하시는, 새겨 만든 우상이나 부어 만든 우상, 곧 장인의 손으로 만든 것을 은밀한 곳에 두는 자는 저주를 받는다.’ 하면, 온 백성은 ‘아멘.’ 하고 응답해야 한다.

▶ 'Cursed be the man who makes a carved or molten idol - an abomination to the LORD, the product of a craftsman's hands - and sets it up in secret!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'

▶ 'Cursed be he who accepts payment for slaying an innocent man!' And all the people shall answer, 'Amen!'

‘이 율법의 말씀들을 존중하여 실천하지 않는 자는 저주를 받는다.’ 하면, 온 백성은 ‘아멘.’ 하고 말해야 한다.”
