Now Peter and John were going up to the temple area for the three o'clock hour of prayer.

▶ 베드로와 요한이 오후 세 시 기도 시간에 성전으로 올라가는데,

|
And a man crippled from birth was carried and placed at the gate of the temple called "the Beautiful Gate" every day to beg for alms from the people who entered the temple.

|
▶ 모태에서부터 불구자였던 사람 하나가 들려 왔다. 성전에 들어가는 이들에게 자선을 청할 수 있도록, 사람들이 그를 날마다 ‘아름다운 문’이라고 하는 성전 문 곁에 들어다 놓았던 것이다.

When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked for alms.

▶ 그가 성전에 들어가려는 베드로와 요한을 보고 자선을 청하였다.
|

|
But Peter looked intently at him, as did John, and said, "Look at us."
|

▶ 베드로는 요한과 함께 그를 유심히 바라보고 나서, “우리를 보시오.” 하고 말하였다.

He paid attention to them, expecting to receive something from them.

▶ 그가 무엇인가를 얻으리라고 기대하며 그들을 쳐다보는데,

Peter said, "I have neither silver nor gold, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk."

|
▶ 베드로가 말하였다. “나는 은도 금도 없습니다. 그러나 내가 가진 것을 당신에게 주겠습니다. 나자렛 사람 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 말합니다. 일어나 걸으시오.”

Then Peter took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles grew strong.

▶ 그러면서 그의 오른손을 잡아 일으켰다. 그러자 그가 즉시 발과 발목이 튼튼해져서

|
He leaped up, stood, and walked around, and went into the temple with them, walking and jumping and praising God.

|
|
|
▶ 벌떡 일어나 걸었다. 그리고 그들과 함께 성전으로 들어가면서, 걷기도 하고 껑충껑충 뛰기도 하고 하느님을 찬미하기도 하였다.

When all the people saw him walking and praising God,

▶ 온 백성은 그가 걷기도 하고 하느님을 찬미하기도 하는 것을 보고,

|
they recognized him as the one who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, and they were filled with amazement and astonishment at what had happened to him.

▶ 또 그가 성전의 ‘아름다운 문’ 곁에 앉아 자선을 청하던 사람이라는 것을 알고, 그에게 일어난 일로 경탄하고 경악하였다.

As he clung to Peter and John, all the people hurried in amazement toward them in the portico called "Solomon's Portico."

▶ 그 사람이 베드로와 요한 곁을 떠나지 않고 있는데, 온 백성이 크게 경탄하며 ‘솔로몬 주랑’이라고 하는 곳에 있는 그들에게 달려갔다.

When Peter saw this, he addressed the people, "You Israelites, why are you amazed at this, and why do you look so intently at us as if we had made him walk by our own power or piety?

The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our ancestors, has glorified his servant Jesus whom you handed over and denied in Pilate's presence, when he had decided to release him.

▶ 여러분은 예수님을 빌라도에게 넘기고, 그분을 놓아주기로 결정한 빌라도 앞에서 그분을 배척하였습니다. 그러나 아브라함의 하느님과 이사악의 하느님과 야곱의 하느님, 곧 우리 조상들의 하느님께서는 당신의 종 예수님을 영광스럽게 하셨습니다.

You denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you.

▶ 여러분은 거룩하고 의로우신 분을 배척하고 살인자를 풀어 달라고 청한 것입니다.

|
The author of life you put to death, but God raised him from the dead; of this we are witnesses.

|
|
▶ 여러분은 생명의 영도자를 죽였습니다. 그러나 하느님께서는 죽은 이들 가운데에서 그분을 다시 일으키셨고, 우리는 그 증인입니다.

|
And by faith in his name, this man, whom you see and know, his name has made strong, and the faith that comes through it has given him this perfect health, in the presence of all of you.

|
|
▶ 이 예수님의 이름에 대한 믿음 때문에, 바로 그분의 이름이 여러분이 지금 보고 또 아는 이 사람을 튼튼하게 하였습니다. 그분에게서 오는 믿음이 여러분 모두 앞에서 이 사람을 완전히 낫게 해 주었습니다.

Now I know, brothers, that you acted out of ignorance, just as your leaders did;

but God has thus brought to fulfillment what he had announced beforehand through the mouth of all the prophets, that his Messiah would suffer.

Repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away,

and that the Lord may grant you times of refreshment and send you the Messiah already appointed for you, Jesus,

▶ 그러면 다시 생기를 찾을 때가 주님에게서 올 것이며, 주님께서는 여러분을 위하여 정하신 메시아 곧 예수님을 보내 주실 것입니다.

whom heaven must receive until the times of universal restoration of which God spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets from of old.

▶ 물론 이 예수님께서는 하느님께서 예로부터 당신의 거룩한 예언자들의 입을 통하여 말씀하신 대로, 만물이 복원될 때까지 하늘에 계셔야 합니다.

For Moses said: 'A prophet like me will the Lord, your God, raise up for you from among your own kinsmen; to him you shall listen in all that he may say to you.

▶ 모세는 이렇게 말하였습니다. ‘주 너희 하느님께서는 너희 동족 가운데에서 나와 같은 예언자를 일으켜 주실 것이니, 너희는 그가 하는 말은 무엇이든지 다 들어야 한다.

Everyone who does not listen to that prophet will be cut off from the people.'

▶ 누구든지 그 예언자의 말을 듣지 않는 자는 백성에게서 잘려 나갈 것이다.’

Moreover, all the prophets who spoke, from Samuel and those afterwards, also announced these days.

▶ 그리고 사무엘을 비롯하여 그 뒤를 이어 말씀을 전한 모든 예언자도 지금의 이때를 예고하였습니다.

You are the children of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your ancestors when he said to Abraham, 'In your offspring all the families of the earth shall be blessed.'

▶ 여러분은 그 예언자들의 자손이고, 또 하느님께서 아브라함에게 ‘세상의 모든 종족들이 너희 후손을 통하여 복을 받을 것이다.’ 하시며 여러분의 조상들과 맺어 주신 계약의 자손입니다.

For you first, God raised up his servant and sent him to bless you by turning each of you from your evil ways."

▶ 하느님께서는 당신의 종을 일으키시고 먼저 여러분에게 보내시어, 여러분 하나하나를 악에서 돌아서도록 하여 여러분에게 복을 내리게 하셨습니다.”
