그리스도의 교회는 베드로의 굳건한 신앙 위에 세워져 있습니다.   Ecclesia Christi in Petri fidei firmitate consurgit.   주님은 이 권리를 행사할 권한을 다른 사도들에게도 물려주셨으며 또 교회의 주교들에게도 물려주셨스빈다. 그러나 모든 이들에게 나누어 줄 권한을 한 사람에게 위임하시는 것은 의미있는 일입니다. 아렇게 베드로에게 이 권한을 위임하시는 것은 베드로를 교회의 모든 지도자들의 으뜸으로 내세우시 때문입니다.   Transivit quidam etiam in alios Apostolos ius potestatis istius, et ad omnes Ecclesiae principes decreti constitutio commeavit ; sed non frustra uni commendatur, quod omnibus intimentur. Petro enim ideo hoc singulariter creditur, quia cunctis  Ecclesiae  rectoribus Petri forma praeponitur.    The authority vested in this power passed also to the other apostles, and the institution established by this decree has been continued in all the leaders of the Church. But it is not without good reason that what is bestowed on all is entrusted to one. For Peter received it separately in trust because he is the prototype set before all the rulers of the Church.     마침기도 : 전능하신 천주여, 당신은 사도 성베드로의 신앙고백을 주추 삼아 그 위에 우리를 굳게 세워주셨으니, 우리로 하여금 어떠한 혼란 중에서도 당황하지 않게 하소서.   Praesta, quaedumus, omnipotens Deus, ut nullis nos permittas perturbationibus concuti, quos in postolicae confessionis petra solidasti.       Almighty God,  as you built your Church on the rock of Peter’s faith, grant that with such a firm foundation  we may hold fast in every storm.
