헨리 나웬  신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 10월 3일 <연약함과 믿음의 자리라는  것> A Place of Vulnerability and Trust 우리가 밥상에 들러앉아 같은 빵을 먹고 같은 잔으로 마시게 되면 서로가 서로에게 가장 연약한 처지가 되는 겁니다. 총을 어깨에 둘러메고 또 권총을 허리에 차고서 평안하게 밥을 먹을 수는 없는 겁니다. 함께 빵을 떼어낸다면 몸으로든 마음으로든 우리가 지닌 무기는 현관에 내려두고 서로가 연약해지고 또 서로가 믿을 수 있는 자리로 들어서게 되는 겁니다 성체성사가 아름다운 건  바로 그 자리가 연약한 하느님께서 이 연약한 사람들을 함께 부르시어 평화롭게 밥을 먹게 해 주시는 자리이기 때문인 겁니다. 우리가 빵을 떼어 다른 이들에게 건내면두려움이 사라지고 하느님께서는 바로 우리들 가까이 계시게 되는 겁니다. "그들이 이러한 이야기를 하고 있을 때 예수님께서 그들 가운데에 서시어, “평화가 너희와 함께!” 하고 그들에게 말씀하셨다."(루카24,36) A Place of Vulnerability and Trust OCTOBER 3 When we gather around the table and eat from the same loaf and drink from the same cup, we are most vulnerable to one another. We cannot have a meal together in peace with guns hanging over our shoulders and pistols attached to our belts. When we break bread together we leave our arms – whether they are physical or mental – at the door and enter into a place of mutual vulnerability and trust. The beauty of the Eucharist is precisely that it is the place where a vulnerable God invites vulnerable people to come together in a peaceful meal. When we break bread and give it to each other, fear vanishes and God becomes very close.
