헨리 나웬 신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 3 월 27일[사순 제4주일]  <알쏭달쏭한 세상에서 신실하게 살아간다는 것> Living faithfully in an Ambiguous World 우리는 마음이나 생각으로 명확한 걸 바랍니다. 벌어진 일의 명확한 상황, 일이 정리되어 가는 명확한 전망, 그리고 우리 자신과 세상의 문제거리를 명확히 꿰뚫어보길 바랍니다. 삼라만상을 보면 색깔과 모양을 명확하게 가르지 않고 서로 어우러져 섞여있듯이 사람살이에도 우리가 찾는 명확함은 없는 겁니다. 사랑과 미움, 악함과 선함, 아름다움과 볼품 없음, 용감함과 비겁함, 돌봄과 버려둠, 죄있음과 결백함을 가르는 울타리는 대개 흐리터분하여 식별하기가 어렵습니다. 온통 알쏭달쏭하고 흐리터분한 이 세상을 신실하게 사는 건 쉽지 않은 일입니다. 해서 우리가 배워야 하는 건 완전히 확신하길 바라지 말고 선택을 지혜롭게 하는 겁니다. Living faithfully in an Ambiguous World MARCH 27 Our hearts and minds desire clarity. We like to have a clear picture of a situation, a clear view of how things fit together, and clear insight into our own and the world’s problems. But just as in nature colors and shapes mingle without clear-cut distinctions, human life doesn’t offer the clarity we are looking for. The borders between love and hate, evil and good, beauty and ugliness, heroism and cowardice, care and neglect, guilt and blamelessness are mostly vague, ambiguous, and hard to discern. It is not easy to live faithfully in a world full of ambiguities. We have to learn to make wise choices without needing to be entirely sure.
