헨리 나웬 신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 5월 5일 어린이날 백주년 소파 방정환 선생님 ! <하느님의 너그러우심이라는 것> God’s Generosity 하느님께서는 쪼들리게 하시는 분이 아니라 가멸지게 하시는 분입니다. 예수님께서는 하느님의 가멸하심을 우리에게 보여주십니다. 남은 조각으로 열두 광주리가 가득할 만큼 보리 빵을 주시고(요한 6, 5-15 참조), 제자들이 고깃배가 가라 앉을 정도로 많은 물고기를 잡게 하신 겁니다(루카 5,1-7참조). 하느님께서는 그냥 넉넉하게 베푸시는 정도가 아니라 훨씬 더 많이 베푸십니다. 먹을 수 있는 것보다 더 많은 빵과 물고기를, 감히 청하는 것 보다 더 많은 사랑을 베푸십니다. 하느님은 아낌없이 베푸시는 분이십니다. 하지만 마음을 다하고 정신을 다하고 힘을 다하여 하느님을 사랑해야 하느님의 너그러우심을 보고 누릴 수 있는 겁니다. 우리가 “하느님께서 먼저 너그러우심을 베풀어 주시면 제가 사랑하겠습니다.” 라고 말씀드린다면 하느님께로부터 멀리 떨어진 데 머물러 하느님께서 짜장 우리에게 주시려는 생명, 더우기 가멸진 생명을 체험할 순 없을 겁니다. "당신께서는 땅을 찾아오셔서 물로 넘치게 하시어 더없이 풍요롭게 하십니다. 하느님의 개울은 물로 가득하고 당신께서는 곡식을 장만하십니다. 정녕 당신께서 이렇게 마련해 주십니다. 그 고랑에 물을 대시고 두둑을 고르시며 비로 부드럽게 하시어 새싹들에게 강복하십니다. 당신의 선하심으로 한 해를 꾸미시어 당신께서 가시는 길마다 기름이 방울져 흐릅니다. 사막의 풀밭에도 방울져 흐르고 언덕들은 기쁨으로 띠 두릅니다. 목장들은 양 떼로 옷 입고 골짜기들은 곡식으로 뒤덮여 저들이 환성을 올리며 노래합니다.(시편65,10-14) God’s Generosity MAY 5 God is a god of abundance, not a god of scarcity. Jesus reveals to us God’s abundance when he offers so much bread to the people that there are twelve large baskets with leftover scraps (see John 6:5-15), and when he makes his disciples catch so many fish that their boat nearly sinks (Luke 5:1-7). God doesn’t give us just enough. God gives us more than enough: more bread and fish than we can eat, more love than we dared to ask for. God is a generous giver, but we can only see and enjoy God’s generosity when we love God with all of our hearts, minds, and strength. As long as we say, “I will love you, God, but first show me your generosity,” we will remain distant from God and unable to experience what God truly wants to give us, which is life and life in abundance. "You visit the earth and water it, you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide the people with grain, for so you have prepared it. You water its furrows abundantly, settling its ridges, softening it with showers, and blessing its growth. You crown the year with your bounty; your wagon tracks overflow with richness. The pastures of the wilderness overflow, the hills gird themselves with joy, the meadows clothe themselves with flocks, the valleys deck themselves with grain, they shout and sing together for joy." - Psalm 65: 10-14 (NRSV) † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘. |
