헨리 나웬 신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘 ! 12월 22일 <어둠 속의 빛> Light in the Darkness 우리는 "어둠의 골짜기"(시 23,4)를 가지만, 하느님께서 우리 편이시니, 두려워할 게 없습니다. 하느님의 막대와 지팡이가 위안하기 때문입니다.(시 23,4 참조) 이것은 그냥 위안한다는 생각이 아닙니다. 마음으로 체험한 것이니 믿을 수 있는 겁니다. 우리 삶에는 고난, 고통, 환멸, 상실과 슬픔이 가득하지만 이것들은 "동쪽에서 친 번개가 서쪽까지 비추듯"(마태24,27) 사람의 아들이 다시 오시는 환시의 특징이기도 합니다. 인생길에 하느님께서 함께 하심을 분명하게 보고, 큰소리로 들으며, 깊이 느끼는 이 순간들로 인해 우리는 어둠 속의 빛처럼 빛나는 겁니다. 예수님께서 가라사대 "너희는 세상의 빛이다. .…이와 같이 너희의 빛이 사람들 앞을 비추어, 그들이 너희의 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지를 찬양하게 하여라.”(마태5,14-16) Light in the Darkness DECEMBER 22 We walk in a “ravine as dark as death” (Psalm 23:4), and still we have nothing to fear because God is at our side: God’s staff and crook are there to soothe us (see Psalm 23:4). This is not just a consoling idea. It is an experience of the heart that we can trust. Our lives are full of suffering, pain, disillusions, losses and grief, but they are also marked by visions of the coming of the Son of Man “like lightning striking in the east and flashing far into west” (Matthew 24:27). These moments in which we see clearly, hear loudly, and feel deeply that God is with us on the journey make us shine as a light into the darkness. Jesus says, “You are the light of the world. Your light must shine in people’s sight, so that, seeing your good works, they may give praise to your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16). † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘. |
