헨리 나웬  신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 10월 2일 [(녹) 연중 제27주일(군인 주일)] <가장 사람답고 가장 하느님다우신 몸짓이라는 것> The Most Human and Most Divine Gesture 엠마오로 가던 길에 예수님께서 함께 어울리신 두 제자는 빵을 떼실 때 예수님을 알아본 겁니다. 빵을 떼어 주는 것보다 더 흔하고 늘상 하는 몸짓이 무엇인지요? 아마 그건 가장 사람다운 몸짓일 겁니다. 환대하고 우애를 나타내고 보살피며 또 함께 하길 갈망하는 몸짓인 겁니다. 빵 덩어리를 들어 축복하고 떼어 내어 밥상에 둘러 앉은 이들에게 나누어 주는 건 일치요 공동체요 평화를 드러내는 겁니다. 예수님께서는 일상에서 가장 평범(平凡)하면서도 가장 비범(非凡)한 몸짓을 하신 겁니다. 바로 가장 사람답고도 가장 하느님다우신 몸짓인 겁니다. 위대한 신비란 바로 이런 일상에서 하는 가장 사람다운 몸짓이야말로 우리 가운데 계신 그리스도를 알아보는 방법이라는 겁니다. 하느님께서 가장 또렷하게 계시는 건 우리가 가장 사람다울 때인 겁니다. '그들은 서로 말하였다. “길에서 우리에게 말씀하실 때나 성경을 풀이해 주실 때 속에서 우리 마음이 타오르지 않았던가!”(루카24,32) The Most Human and Most Divine Gesture OCTOBER 2 The two disciples whom Jesus joined on the road to Emmaus recognised him in the breaking of the bread. What is a more common, ordinary gesture than breaking bread? It may be the most human of all human gestures: a gesture of hospitality, friendship, care, and the desire to be together. Taking a loaf of bread, blessing it, breaking it, and giving it to those seated around the table signifies unity, community, and peace. When Jesus does this he does the most ordinary as well as the most extraordinary. It is the most human as well as the most divine gesture. The great mystery is that this daily and most human gesture is the way we recognise the presence of Christ among us. God becomes most present when we are most human.
