헨리 나웬  신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 11월 25일 <숨겨진 부활> The Hidden Resurrection 예수님의 부활은 숨겨진 사건이었습니다. 예수님께서 무덤에서 되살아 나신 건 적대자들이 당황하게 만들거나, 승리 선언을 한다거나, 십자가에 못 박은 이들에게 마침내 그분께서 옳으셨음을 입증하시려는 게 아니었던 겁니다. 예수님께서는 당신을 사랑하고 따른 이들에게 하느님의 거룩한 사랑이 죽음보다 더 강하다는 걸 보여주시는 표징으로 부활하신 겁니다. 그분께 모든 걸 바친 남녀 제자들에게 그분의 사명이 이루어졌다는 걸 계시하신 겁니다. 그분과 함께 전교 활동을 한  이들에게는 모든 이를 그분과 함께 하는 삶으로 초대하라는 거록한 임무를 주신 겁니다. 세상 사람들은 알아차리지 못했습니다. 친히 이름으로 부르시고, 함께 빵을 떼어 나누시며, 평화의 말씀을 들려주신 이들만이 이 부활 사건의 진상을 알아차렸던 겁니다. 하지만 바로 이 숨겨진 사건이 인류를 죽음의 속박들로부터 해방시킨 겁니다. "그들이 이러한 이야기를 하고 있을 때 예수님께서 그들 가운데에 서시어, “평화가 너희와 함께!” 하고 그들에게 말씀하셨다."(루카24,36) The Hidden Resurrection NOVEMBER 25 The resurrection of Jesus was a hidden event. Jesus didn’t rise from the grave to baffle his opponents, to make a victory statement, or to prove to those who crucified him that he was right after all. Jesus rose as a sign to those who had loved him and followed him that God’s divine love is stronger than death. To the women and men who had committed themselves to him, he revealed that his mission had been fulfilled. To those who shared in his ministry, he gave the sacred task to call all people into the new life with him. The world didn’t take notice. Only those whom he called by name, with whom he broke bread, and to whom he spoke words of peace were aware of what happened. Still, it was this hidden event that freed humanity from the shackles of death.
