헨리 나웬  신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 11월 7일 <예수님의 이야기를 들려준다는 것> Telling the Story of Jesus 교회의 사명은 예수님의 복음(기쁜 소식)을 모든 이과 모든 나라에 알리는 겁니다. 자비를 베푸는 많은 일로 예수님의 사랑을 볼 수 있게 해야 하지만 그에 더하여 예수님께서 사시고 고통을 겪으시며 목숨을 바치시고 다시 살아나시어 이루신 하느님 구원의 신비도 기쁘게 알려야 하는 겁니다. 바로 예수님의 이야기를 선포하고 기념해야 하는 겁니다. 어떤 이는 듣고 기뻐하고 어떤 이는 관심도 보이지 않을 겁니다. 또 어떤 이는 적개심을 품을 겁니다. 예수님의 이야기를 늘 받아 들이는 건 아니지만 들려줘야 하는 겁니다. 그 이야기를 알고 그대로 행동하려고 애쓰는 우리에겐 남들에게도 같은 이야기를 들려줘야 하는즐거운 임무가 있는 겁니다. 우리가 하는 말이 사랑와 감사로 가득찬 마음에서 우러나온다면 눈으로 볼 수 있든 아니든 그이들은 열매를 맺을 겁니다. "그런데 이제 나는 성령께 사로잡혀 예루살렘으로 가고 있습니다. 거기에서 나에게 무슨 일이 닥칠지 나는 모릅니다. --그러나 내가 달릴 길을 다 달려 주 예수님께 받은 직무 곧 하느님 은총의 복음을 증언하는 일을 다 마칠 수만 있다면, 내 목숨이야 조금도 아깝지 않습니다."(사도20,22,24) Telling the Story of Jesus NOVEMBER 7 The Church is called to announce the Good News of Jesus to all people and all nations. Besides the many works of mercy by which the Church must make Jesus’ love visible, it must also joyfully announce the great mystery of God’s salvation through the life, suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus. The story of Jesus is to be proclaimed and celebrated. Some will hear and rejoice, some will remain indifferent, some will become hostile. The story of Jesus will not always be accepted, but it must be told. We who know the story and try to live it out, have the joyful task of telling it to others. When our words rise from hearts full of love and gratitude, they will bear fruit, whether we can see this or not. "And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me - the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace." - Acts 20: 22, 24 (NIV)   † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘.
