헨리 나웬 신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 11월 17일 [백] 헝가리의 성녀 엘리사벳 수도자 기념일 <사목생활과 영성생활> Ministry and the Spiritual Life 예수님의 모든 말씀과 행동은 아버지와의 친밀한 관계에서 나오는 겁니다. 예수님께서 가라사대 “내가 아버지 안에 있고 아버지께서 내 안에 계시다는 것을 너는 믿지 않느냐? 내가 너희에게 하는 말은 나 스스로 하는 말이 아니다. 내 안에 머무르시는 아버지께서 당신의 일을 하시는 것이다. 내가 아버지 안에 있고 아버지께서 내 안에 계시다고 한 말을 믿어라. 믿지 못하겠거든 이 일들을 보아서라도 믿어라”(요한 14,10-11). 예수님의 말씀과 행동이 모두 아버지와의 통공(하나 되심)에서 나오듯이 우리의 모든 말과 행동도 예수님과의 통공에서 비롯되어야 하는 겁니다. 예수님께서 가라사대 “내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 말한다. 나를 믿는 사람은 내가 하는 일을 할 뿐만 아니라, 그보다 더 큰 일도 하게 될 것이다 … 너희가 내 이름으로 청하는 것은 무엇이든지 내가 다 이루어주겠다”(요한 14, 12-13). 바로 이 의미심장한 진리는 영성생활과 사목생활사이의 관계를 계시하는 겁니다. "그분 덕분에, 영양을 공급하는 각각의 관절로 온몸이 잘 결합되고 연결됩니다. 또한 각 기관이 알맞게 기능을 하여 온몸이 자라나게 됩니다. 그리하여 사랑으로 성장하는 것입니다."(에페4,16) Ministry and the Spiritual Life NOVEMBER 17 All Jesus’ words and actions emerge from his intimate relationships with his Father. “Do you not believe,” Jesus says, “that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? What I say to you I do not speak of my own accord: it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his works. You must believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe it on the evidence of these works” (John 14:10-11). Just as all Jesus’ words and actions emerge from his communion with his Father, so all our words and actions must emerge from our communion with Jesus. “In all truth I tell you,” he says, “whoever believes in me will perform the same works as I do myself, and will perform even greater works. … Whatever you ask for in my name I will do” (John 14:12-13). It is this profound truth that reveals the relationship between the spiritual life and the life of ministry.
