헨리 나웬  신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘 ! 12월 26일 [홍] 성 스테파노 첫 순교자 축일 <우리의 화해를 선포한다는 것> Claiming our Reconciliation 화해를 위해 어떻게 해야 할까요? 최우선적으로 하느님께서 그리스도를 통하여 우리와 화해하셨다고 선포하는 겁니다. 머리로 믿는 것만으로는 미흡합니다. 이 화해의 진리가 우리 존재에 속속들이 스며들게 해야 합니다. 우리가 하느님과 화해하고 용서받았으며 새 마음, 새 정신, 볼 수 있는 새 눈, 들을 수 있는 새 귀를 받았음을 온전하고 철두철미하게 확신하지 않는다면 사람들 가운데 끊임없이 분열을 일으킬 겁니다. 치유할 수 있는 능력이 없는 이에게 그걸 기대하기 때문입니다. 우리가 하느님의 것이요 우리 마음과 심정과 영혼에 필요한 모든 것을 하느님과의 관계에서 찾을 수 있다고 온전히 믿을 때 비로소 이 세상에서 참으로 자유롭고 또 화해의 봉사자가 될 수 있는 겁니다. 이 일이 쉬운 건 아닙니다. 우리가 쉽사리 자기 의심과 자기 부정에 빠져들기 때문입니다. 해서 하느님의 말씀, 성사들 그리고 이웃 사랑을 통해 우리가 참으로 화해했다는 것을 늘 기억해야 하는 겁니다. "그러므로 사랑하는 여러분, 우리는 이러한 약속들을 받았으니 육과 영의 모든 더러움에서 우리 자신을 깨끗이 하여, 하느님을 경외하며 온전히 거룩하게 됩시다."(2코린7,1) Claiming our Reconciliation DECEMBER 26 How do we work for reconciliation? First and foremost by claiming for ourselves that God through Christ has reconciled us to God. It is not enough to believe this with our heads. We have to let the truth of this reconciliation permeate every part of our beings. As long as we are not fully and thoroughly convinced that we have been reconciled with God, that we are forgiven, that we have received new hearts, new spirits, new eyes to see, and new ears to hear, we continue to create divisions among people because we expect from them a healing power they do not possess. Only when we fully trust that we belong to God and can find in our relationship with God all that we need for our minds, hearts, and souls, can we be truly free in this world and be ministers of reconciliation. This is not easy; we readily fall back into self-doubt and self-rejection. We need to be constantly reminded through God’s Word, the sacraments, and the love of our neighbours that we are indeed reconciled. "Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God." - 2 Corinthians 7: 1 (NIV)     † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘.
