▶ Exhortation To Rebuild the Temple of the Lord

다리우스 임금 제이년 여섯째 달 초하룻날, 주님의 말씀이 하까이 예언자를 통하여 스알티엘의 아들 즈루빠벨 유다 총독과 여호차닥의 아들 예수아 대사제에게 내렸다.

▶ On the first day of the sixth month in the second year of King Darius, the word of the LORD came through the prophet Haggai to the governor of Judah, Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, and to the high priest Joshua, son of Jehozadak:

하느님의 독촉으로 성전 재건을 시작하다
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

만군의 주님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. “이 백성은 ‘주님의 집을 지을 때가 되지 않았다.’고 말한다.”

|
▶ Thus says the LORD of hosts: This people says: "Not now has the time come to rebuild the house of the LORD."
|

주님의 말씀이 하까이 예언자를 통하여 내렸다.

▶ (Then this word of the LORD came through Haggai, the prophet:)

“주님의 집이 무너져 있는데 너희가 지금 판벽으로 된 집에서 살 때냐?
|

|
|
▶ Is it time for you to dwell in your own paneled houses, while this house lies in ruins?
|
|

|
─ 만군의 주님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. ─ 너희가 살아온 길을 돌이켜 보아라.

|
|
▶ Now thus says the LORD of hosts: Consider your ways!
|
|

|
씨앗을 많이 뿌려도 얼마 거두지 못하고 먹어도 배부르지 않으며 마셔도 만족하지 못하고 입어도 따뜻하지 않으며 품팔이꾼이 품삯을 받아도 구멍 난 주머니에 넣는 꼴이다.

▶ You have sown much, but have brought in little; you have eaten, but have not been satisfied; You have drunk, but have not been exhilarated; have clothed yourselves, but not been warmed; And he who earned wages earned them for a bag with holes in it.

─ 만군의 주님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. ─ 너희가 살아온 길을 돌이켜 보아라.

▶ Thus says the LORD of hosts: Consider your ways!
|
|

|
너희는 산에 올라가서 나무를 가져다가 집을 지어라. 그러면 나는 그 집을 기꺼이 여기고 그것으로 영광을 받으리라. ─ 주님께서 말씀하신다. ─

|
|
|
▶ Go up into the hill country; bring timber, and build the house That I may take pleasure in it and receive my glory, says the LORD.
|

너희는 많이 거두기를 바랐지만 얼마 거두지 못하고 집으로 거두어들인 것조차 내가 날려 버렸다. 무슨 까닭이냐? 만군의 주님의 말씀이다. 내 집이 무너져 있는데도 너희가 저마다 제집 돌보는 데에만 바빴기 때문이다.

|
|
▶ You expected much, but it came to little; and what you brought home, I blew away. For what cause? says the LORD of hosts. Because my house lies in ruins, while each of you hurries to his own house.

|
그러므로 하늘은 너희에게 이슬을 내리지 않고 땅은 제 소출을 내주지 않았다.

|
|
|
▶ Therefore the heavens withheld from you their dew, and the earth her crops.
|
|
11
|
나는 땅에 산과 곡식에 햇포도주와 기름에 밭에서 나는 것에 사람과 짐승에게 그들이 하는 모든 일의 결실에 가뭄을 불러들였다.”

▶ And I called for a drought upon the land and upon the mountains; Upon the grain, and upon the wine, and upon the oil, and upon all that the ground brings forth; Upon men and upon beasts, and upon all that is produced by hand.
|

스알티엘의 아들 즈루빠벨과 여호차닥의 아들 예수아 대사제와 나머지 모든 백성은, 주 저희 하느님의 말씀과 주 저희 하느님께서 보내신 하까이 예언자의 말을 잘 들었다. 그리고 백성은 주님을 경외하게 되었다.

▶ Then Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, and the high priest Joshua, son of Jehozadak, and all the remnant of the people listened to the voice of the LORD, their God, and to the words of the prophet Haggai, because the LORD, their God, had sent him, and the people feared because of the LORD.

주님의 사자 하까이는 주님의 말씀을 백성에게 전하였다. “내가 너희와 함께 있다. 주님의 말이다.”

|
▶ And the LORD'S messenger, Haggai, proclaimed to the people as the message of the LORD: I am with you, says the LORD.

|
주님께서 스알티엘의 아들 즈루빠벨 유다 총독의 영과 여호차닥의 아들 예수아 대사제의 영과 나머지 모든 백성의 영을 일으키셨다. 그래서 그들은 가서 저희 하느님, 만군의 주님의 집을 짓는 일을 하였다.

▶ Then the LORD stirred up the spirit of the governor of Judah, Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, and the spirit of the high priest Joshua, son of Jehozadak, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people, so that they came and set to work on the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,
