히즈키야의 유다 통치 히즈키야 Reforms of Hezekiah
1 히즈키야는 스물다섯 살에 임금이 되어, 예루살렘에서 스물아홉 해 동안 다스렸다. 그의 어머니 이름은 아비야인데 즈카르야의 딸이었다. 1 히즈키야는 이십오 세에 왕위에 올라 예루살렘에서 이십구 년간 다스렸다. 그의 어머니는 즈가리야의 딸로서 이름을 아비야라고 하였다. 1 Hezekiah was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother was named Abia, daughter of Zechariah.
2 그는 자기 조상 다윗이 하던 그대로, 주님의 눈에 드는 옳은 일을 하였다. 2 그는 태조 다윗 못지않게 야훼 보시기에 옳은 일을 하였다. 2 He pleased the LORD just as his forefather David had done.
성전을 정화하다
3 히즈키야는 임금이 되던 첫해 첫째 달에, 주님의 집 문들을 열고 보수하였다. 3 그는 왕이 되면서 첫 해 첫 달에 야훼의 성전 문들을 열어 수리하고 3 It was he who, in the first month of the first year of his reign, opened the doors of the LORD'S house and repaired them.
4 그는 사제들과 레위인들을 오라고 하여 동쪽 광장에 모은 다음, 4 사제들과 레위인들을 동쪽 광장에 불러모은 다음 4 He summoned the priests and Levites, gathered them in the open space to the east,
5 그들에게 말하였다. “레위인들은 내 말을 들으시오. 그대들은 이제 자신들을 먼저 거룩하게 하고, 그대들 조상들의 하느님이신 주님의 집을 거룩하게 하시오. 그리고 성소에서 부정한 것을 끌어내시오. 5 이렇게 말하였다. "레위인들은 내 말을 들어라. 너희는 이제 목욕재계하고 너희 선조들의 하느님 야훼의 전을 깨끗이 하여라. 성소에서 부정한 것을 쓸어내어라. 5 and said to them: "Listen to me, you Levites! Sanctify yourselves now and sanctify the house of the LORD, the God of your fathers, and clean out the filth from the sanctuary.
6 우리 선조들은 배신하여, 주 우리 하느님의 눈에 거슬리는 악한 짓을 저지르고 그분을 저버렸으며, 주님의 거처에서 자기들의 얼굴을 돌리고 등을 돌렸소. 6 우리 선조들은 우리 하느님 야훼께 반역하여 그의 눈에 거슬리는 일을 하였다. 야훼를 저버리고 그가 계시는 곳을 바라보기도 싫어하여 등을 돌리고 말았다. 6 Our fathers acted faithlessly and did evil in the eyes of the LORD, our God. They abandoned him, turned away their faces from the LORD'S dwelling, and turned their backs on him.
7 그들은 또 주님의 집 현관문들을 잠가 버리고 등불을 꺼 버렸으며, 성소에서 이스라엘의 하느님께 향도 피우지 않고 번제물도 바치지 않았소. 7 현관 앞 문들을 봉하고 등을 끄고 성소에서 이스라엘의 하느님께 분향하지도 않았으며 번제도 드리지 않았다. 7 They also closed the doors of the vestibule, extinguished the lamps, and refused to burn incense and offer holocausts in the sanctuary to the honor of the God of Israel.
8 그래서 주님의 진노가 유다와 예루살렘에 내린 것이오. 그대들이 눈으로 보았듯이 그분께서는 유다와 예루살렘 주민들을 두려움과 놀람과 비웃음 거리가 되게 하셨소. 8 야훼께서 유다와 예루살렘에 진노를 터뜨리신 것은 그 때문이었다. 그래서 너희가 보는 대로 모두 다 놀랄 만큼 끔찍스러운 일을 당한 것이다. 8 Therefore the anger of the LORD has come upon Judah and Jerusalem; he has made them an object of terror, astonishment and mockery, as you see with your own eyes.
9 우리 조상들이 칼에 맞아 쓰러지고, 우리 아들딸들과 아내들이 잡혀간 것은 바로 그 때문이오. 9 알겠느냐? 우리 선조들이 칼에 맞아 죽고 아들딸과 아내들이 사로잡혀 가게 된 것은 바로 그 때문이었다. 9 For our fathers, as you know, fell by the sword, and our sons, our daughters and our wives have been taken captive because of this.
10 이제 나는 주 이스라엘의 하느님께서 당신의 타오르는 분노를 우리에게서 거두시기를 바라며 그분과 계약을 맺기로 결심하였소. 10 이제 나는 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼께서 진노를 거두어주시기를 바라며 그와 계약을 맺기로 결심하였다. 10 Now, I intend to make a covenant with the LORD, the God of Israel, that his burning anger may withdraw from us.
11 이제 내 아들들이여, 게으름을 피우지 마시오. 그대들이 당신 앞에 서서 시중들도록, 이렇게 당신의 시종이 되어 당신께 향을 피우도록 주님께서 그대들을 선택하셨기 때문이오.” 11 아들들아, 이제는 머뭇거리지 마라. 야훼께서는 당신 앞에서 섬길 사람으로 너희를 뽑으시어 당신을 섬기며 분향할 사람으로 삼으셨다." 11 My sons, be not negligent any longer, for it is you whom the LORD has chosen to stand before him, to minister to him, to be his ministers and to offer incense."
12 그러자 레위인들이 나섰는데, 크핫의 자손에서는 아마사이의 아들 마핫과 아자르야의 아들 요엘이, 므라리의 자손에서는 압디의 아들 키스와 여할렐엘의 아들 아자르야가, 게르손인들 가운데에서는 짐마의 아들 요아와 요아의 아들 에덴이, 12 레위인들이 나서니, 크핫 후손인 아마새의 아들 마핫, 아자리야의 아들 요엘, 므라리 후손인 압디의 아들 키스, 여할렐렐의 아들 아자리야, 게르손 후손인 짐마의 아들 요아, 요아의 아들 에덴, 12 Then the Levites arose: Mahath, son of Amasai, and Joel, son of Azariah, descendants of the Kohathites; of the sons of Merari: Kish, son of Abdi, and Azariah, son of Jehallel; of the Gershonites: Joah, son of Zimmah, and Eden, son of Joah;
13 엘리차판의 자손에서는 시므리와 여이엘이, 아삽의 자손에서는 즈카르야와 마탄야가, 13 엘리사반 후손인 시므리와 여우엘, 아삽 후손인 즈가리야와 마따니야, 13 of the sons of Elizaphan: Shimri and Jeuel; of the sons of Asaph: Zechariah and Mattaniah;

15 그들은 형제들을 모아 자신들을 거룩하게 한 다음, 임금의 명령에 따라 주님의 집에 들어가, 주님의 말씀대로 그곳을 정화하였다. 15 이들은 일가친척을 모아 목욕재계를 시킨 다음 야훼의 분부대로 어명을 따라 야훼의 성전을 깨끗하게 하려고 들어갔으며, 15 They gathered their brethren together and sanctified themselves; then they came as the king had ordered, to cleanse the LORD'S house in keeping with his words.
16 사제들은 주님의 집을 정화하려고 그 안으로 들어갔다. 그들이 주님의 성전 안에서 부정한 것을 발견하는 대로 모두 주님의 집 뜰로 끌어내면, 레위인들이 그것들을 가져다가 ‘키드론 골짜기’에 내다 버렸다. 16 사제들은 야훼의 성전 안을 깨끗하게 하려고 들어갔다. 사제들이 야훼의 성전 본관 안에 있는 부정한 것을 모두 야훼의 성전 밖으로 몰아내면, 레위인들은 그것을 성 밖 키드론 골짜기에 가져다 버렸다. 16 The priests entered the interior of the LORD'S house to cleanse it; and whatever they found in the LORD'S temple that was unclean they brought out to the court of the LORD'S house, where the Levites took it from them and carried it out to the Kidron Valley.
17 그들은 거룩하게 하는 일을 첫째 달 초하룻날에 시작하여, 그 달 초여드렛날에 주님의 집 현관에 이르렀다. 그리고 다시 여드레 동안 주님의 집을 거룩하게 하고, 첫째 달 열엿샛날에 일을 마쳤다. 17 성전을 깨끗이 하는 일은 정월 초하루에 시작해서 그 달 팔일에야 야훼께서 계시는 곳 현관에 다다랐다. 그 다음 야훼의 성전을 깨끗이 하는 데 또 팔 일 걸렸다. 이렇게 해서 일을 마친 것은 정월 십육일이었다. 17 They began the work of consecration on the first day of the first month, and on the eighth day of the month they arrived at the vestibule of the LORD; they consecrated the LORD'S house during eight days, and on the sixteenth day of the first month, they had finished.
18 그러고 나서 그들은 히즈키야 임금에게 들어가서 말하였다. “저희가 주님의 집을 모두 정화하였습니다. 번제 제단과 거기에 딸린 모든 기물, 빵을 차려 놓는 제사상과 거기에 딸린 모든 기물도 정화하였습니다. 18 그리고 나서 레위인들은 대궐로 들어가 히즈키야 왕에게 아뢰었다. "야훼의 성전을 다 정하게 하였습니다. 번제단과 거기에 딸린 모든 기구들, 제사 상과 거기에 딸린 모든 기구들을 정하게 하였습니다. 18 Then they went inside to King Hezekiah and said: "We have cleansed the entire house of the LORD, the altar of holocausts with all its utensils, and the table for the showbread with all its utensils.
19 또 아하즈 임금님께서 왕위에 계실 때에 하느님을 배신하여 치워 버리신 모든 기물을 다시 마련하고 성별하였습니다. 보십시오, 그 기물들이 주님의 제단 앞에 있습니다.” 19 또 아하즈 왕께서 왕위에 계실 때 하느님께 반역하면서 치워버린 기구들을 모두 깨끗이 갖추어 야훼의 제단 앞에 차려놓았습니다." 19 All the articles which King Ahaz during his reign had thrown away because of his apostasy, we have restored and consecrated, and they are now before the LORD'S altar."
20 다음 날 아침 히즈키야 임금은 일찍 일어나서 성읍의 대신들을 불러 모아 주님의 집으로 올라갔다. 20 히즈키야 왕은 아침 일찍 일어나 성읍에 있는 대신들을 불러모은 다음, 야훼의 성전으로 올라갔다. 20 Then King Hezekiah hastened to convoke the princes of the city and went up to the LORD'S house.
21 그들이 황소 일곱 마리, 숫양 일곱 마리, 어린양 일곱 마리, 그리고 나라와 성소와 유다를 위한 속죄 제물로 숫염소 일곱 마리를 가져오니, 임금은 아론의 자손 사제들에게 그것들을 주님의 제단 위에서 바치게 하였다. 21 사람들이 황소 일곱 마리, 숫양 일곱 마리, 새끼 양 일곱 마리, 또 왕실과 성소와 유다의 죄를 벗길 숫염소 일곱 마리를 끌어오자 왕은 아론의 후손 사제들에게 그것을 야훼의 제단에 바치라고 분부하였다. 21 Seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs and seven he-goats were brought for a sin offering for the kingdom, for the sanctuary, and for Judah, and he ordered the sons of Aaron, the priests, to offer them on the altar of the LORD.
22 사람들이 소를 잡고, 사제들은 그 피를 받아 제단에 뿌렸다. 또 숫양을 잡아 그 피를 제단에 뿌리고, 어린양도 잡아 그 피를 제단에 뿌렸다. 22 사제들은 소를 죽이고는 그 피를 받아 제단에 뿌린 다음 또 숫양을 죽여 그 피를 제단에 뿌리고 또 새끼 양을 죽여 그 피를 제단에 뿌렸다. 22 They slaughtered the bulls, and the priests collected the blood and cast it on the altar. Then they slaughtered the rams and cast the blood on the altar; then they slaughtered the lambs and cast the blood on the altar.
23 그리고 속죄 제물인 숫염소를 임금과 회중 앞으로 가까이 끌어와, 그들이 그 위에 손을 얹자, 23 죄를 벗기는 제물인 숫염소를 앞으로 끌어오자 왕과 회중이 그 위에 손을 얹은 다음, 23 Then the he-goats for the sin offering were led before the king and the assembly, who laid their hands upon them.
24 사제들은 온 이스라엘의 죄를 벗겨 주기 위해서, 그 염소를 잡아 그 피를 제단 위에서 속죄 제물로 바쳤다. 임금이 온 이스라엘을 위하여 번제물과 속죄 제물을 바치라고 명령하였던 것이다. 24 사제들이 그 염소를 죽여 피를 제단에 속죄제물로 바쳐 온 이스라엘의 죄를 씻어주었다. 온 이스라엘의 죄를 벗기는 속죄제와 번제를 바치라는 어명이 있었던 것이다. 24 The priests then slaughtered them and offered their blood on the altar to atone for the sin of all Israel; for "The holocaust and the sin offering," the king had said, "is for all Israel."
25 그는 또 다윗과 임금의 선견자 가드와 나탄 예언자의 명령에 따라 자바라와 수금과 비파를 든 레위인들을 주님의 집에 배치하였다. 이 명령은 주님께서 예언자들을 통하여 내리신 것이다. 25 그는 또 다윗과 선견자 갓과 예언자 나단의 지시대로 레위인들에게 바라와 수금과 거문고를 들고 야훼의 성전에 서게 하였다. 이 지시는 야훼께서 예언자들을 시켜 내리셨던 것이다. 25 He stationed the Levites in the LORD'S house with cymbals, harps and lyres according to the prescriptions of David, of Gad the king's seer, and of Nathan the prophet; for the prescriptions were from the LORD through his prophets.
26 레위인들은 다윗의 악기를 들고 사제들은 쇠 나팔을 들고 섰다. 26 레위인들은 다윗의 악기를 잡고 사제들은 나팔을 잡고 섰다. 26 The Levites were stationed with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.
27 그러자 히즈키야는 번제물을 제단 위에서 바치라고 분부하였다. 번제물을 바치기 시작하자, 주님을 찬양하는 노래도 시작되고, 이스라엘 임금 다윗의 악기들에 맞추어 나팔 소리도 울려 퍼졌다. 27 그러자 히즈키야는 번제물을 제단에 바치라고 명령하였다. 그 때 번제를 드리기 시작하며 나팔 소리 울려 퍼지고 이스라엘 왕 다윗의 악기에 맞추어 야훼를 찬양하는 노래가 터져 나왔다. 27 Then Hezekiah ordered the holocaust to be sacrificed on the altar, and in the same instant that the holocaust began, they also began the song of the LORD, to the accompaniment of the trumpets and the instruments of David, king of Israel.
28 온 회중은 경배를 드리고 성가대는 노래를 부르고 나팔수들은 나팔을 불었다. 번제물을 다 바칠 때까지 모두 이렇게 하였다. 28 온 회중은 땅에 엎드렸다. 번제가 끝나기까지 나팔 소리에 맞추어 합창대는 노래를 계속하였다. 28 The entire assembly prostrated itself, and they continued to sing the song and to sound the trumpets until the holocaust had been completed.
29 번제물을 다 바치고 나서, 임금과 그와 함께 있던 모든 사람이 엎드려 경배하였다. 29 번제를 다 드린 다음 왕과 일행은 무릎을 꿇어 땅에 엎드려 예배하였다. 29 As the holocaust was completed, the king and all who were with him knelt and prostrated themselves.
30 그런 다음에 히즈키야 임금과 대신들이 레위인들에게 다윗과 아삽 선견자가 지은 노랫말로 주님을 찬양하라고 이르니, 레위인들은 몹시 기뻐하며 찬양하고 무릎 꿇어 경배하였다. 30 그런 다음 히즈키야 왕과 대신들이 다윗과 선견자 아삽이 지은 노래로 야훼를 찬양하라고 명령하자 레위인들은 크게 기뻐하며 노래하고 엎드려 예배하였다. 30 King Hezekiah and the princes then commanded the Levites to sing the praises of the LORD in the words of David and of Asaph the seer. They sang praises till their joy was full, then fell down and prostrated themselves.
31 히즈키야가 다시 말하였다. "이제 그대들은 주님을 위하여 자신들을 성별하였소. 가까이 다가와 희생 제물과 감사 제물을 주님의 집에 바치시오." 그러자 회중이 희생 제물과 감사 제물을 가져오고, 또 마음에서 우러나오는 사람마다 번제물을 가져왔다. 31 찬양이 끝나자 히즈키야가 말하였다. "이제 너희는 야훼를 섬기는 일을 맡은 몸들이다. 감사제물을 가지고 나와 야훼의 성전에 바쳐라." 그리하여 온 회중이 친교제물을 바치고 모두 마음에서 우러나 자원제물을 바치니, 31 Hezekiah now spoke out this command: "You have undertaken a work for the LORD. Approach, and bring forward the sacrifices and thank offerings for the house of the LORD." Then the assembly brought forward the sacrifices and thank offerings and all the holocausts which were free-will offerings.
32 회중이 가져온 번제물의 수는 황소가 일흔 마리, 숫양이 백 마리, 어린양이 이백 마리였다. 이것을 모두 주님께 번제물로 바쳤다. 32 회중이 바친 번제물의 수는 소가 칠십 마리, 숫양이 백 마리, 새끼 양이 이백 마리였다. 이것을 모두 번제로 야훼께 바쳤고, 32 The number of holocausts that the assembly brought forward was seventy oxen, one hundred rams, and two hundred lambs: all of these as a holocaust to the LORD.
33 거룩한 예물은 황소 육백 마리와 양 삼천 마리였다. 33 거룩한 예물로 바친 것은 소 육백 마리, 양 삼천 마리였다. 33 As consecrated gifts there were six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep.
34 그런데 사제의 수가 적어서 그 번제물의 가죽을 다 벗길 수가 없었다. 그래서 다른 사제들도 자신을 거룩하게 하여 그 일을 마칠 때까지, 형제들인 레위인들이 그들을 도왔다. 자신들을 거룩하게 하는 일에는, 레위인들이 사제들보다 더 열심이었던 것이다. 34 그런데 사제의 수가 적어서 그 번제물을 다 잡을 수가 없었다. 그래서 사제들이 그 거룩한 임무를 끝내기까지 일가인 레위인들이 거들었다. 레위인들이 사제들보다 이 거룩한 일을 더욱 성심껏 하였다. 34 Since the priests were too few in number to be able to skin all the victims for the holocausts, their brethren the Levites assisted them until the task was completed and the priests had sanctified themselves; the Levites, in fact, were more willing than the priests to sanctify themselves.
35 번제물도 많았지만, 친교 제물의 굳기름도 있었고 번제물에 곁들이는 제주도 있었다. 이렇게 하여 주님의 집에서 드리는 예배가 회복되었다. 35 번제물도 많았지만, 친교제물의 기름기도 살라야 하고 번제에 곁들여 제주도 부어 바쳐야 했다. 이렇게 해서 야훼의 성전 예배는 회복되었다. 35 Also, the holocausts were many, along with the fat of the peace offerings and the libations for the holocausts. Thus the service of the house of the LORD was reestablished.
36 히즈키야와 온 백성은 하느님께서 백성을 위하여 친히 일을 그렇게 해 주셨으므로 기뻐하였다. 더구나 그 일은 갑작스럽게 이루어졌던 것이다. 36 하느님께서 백성에게 마련해 주신 일이 이렇듯이 돌연히 이루어진 것을 보고 히즈키야는 온 백성과 함께 기뻐하였다. 36 Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced over what God had reestablished for the people, and at how suddenly this had been done.
