그리스도의 부활은 죽은 자들에게는 생명이고 죄인들에게는 용서이며, 성인들에게는 영광입니다. 그래서 거룩한 예언자는 모든 피조물을 그리스도의 부활 경축에로 초대하면서 우리가 다 즐거워하고 주님이 제정하신 이날을 기뻐해야 한다고 말합니다.

 Resurrectio enim Christi defunctis est vita, peccatoribus venia, sanctis est gloria. Omnem ergo creaturam ad festivitatem resurrectionis Christi propheta sanctus invitat; ait enim exsultandum in hac die quam fecit Dominus et laetandum.

Christ is risen. His rising brings life to the dead, forgiveness to sinners, and glory to the saints. And so David the prophet summons all creation to join in celebrating the Easter festival: Rejoice and be glad, he cries, on this day which the Lord has made.

 형제들이여, 우리는 모두 이 거룩한 날을 기뻐해야합니다. 어느 누구도 자기 양심에 죄가 있다고 해서 이 공통적인 기쁨에서 자신을 소외시켜서는 안됩니다. 누구도 자신이 짊어질 죄의 짐 때문에 하느님 백성의 예배에 참여하는 것을 거부해서는 안됩니다. 아무리 큰 죄인이라 해도 이날에 죄 사함을 받는 것을 단념해서는 안됩니다. 이날에 부여된 특권은 큽니다. 강도가 천국을 얻었다면 그리스도인이 어찌 죄 사함을 받을 수 없겠습니까.

 Igitur, fratres, omnes in hac die sancta exsultare debemus. Nullus se a communi laetitia peccatorum conscientia subtrahat, nullus a publicis votis delictorum sarcina revocetur! Quamvis enim peccator, in hac die de indulgentia non debet desperare; est enim praerogativa non parva. Si enim latro paradisum meruit, cur non mereatur veniam christianus?

And so, my brothers, each of us ought surely to rejoice on this holy day. Let no one, conscious of his sinfulness, withdraw from our common celebration, nor let anyone be kept away from our public prayer by the burden of his guilt. Sinner he may indeed be, but he must not despair of pardon on this day which is so highly privileged; for if a thief could receive the grace of paradise, how could a Christian be refused forgiveness?
