교황 프란치스코: "마귀(devil)의 속임수에 넘어가지 않도록 조심하십시오."

프란치스코 교황님께서는 악마의 계략에 넘어가지 않도록 항상 조심하라고 말씀하십니다. 그리스도의 승리를 쟁취하기 위한 악과의 싸움에서 "어중간함-halfway"는 없으며, 악을 대항한 싸움에서 진리를 혼동하거나 상대적인 것으로 여겨서도 안된다고 말씀하십니다.

바티칸에 있는 성녀 마르타의 집에서 집전하신 금요일 아침 미사에서, 교황님께서는 군중들이 "예수님께서 마귀 우두머리의 힘을 빌려 마귀들을 쫓아내셨다."고 하는 이날의 복음말씀을 함께 묵상하셨습니다.

예수님의 존재를 단순히 정신적, 육체적 질병을 고치는 사람 정도로 축소시키려는 유혹들은 항상 존재해 왔으며 지금 현재까지도 계속되고 있다고 교황님께서는 말씀하십니다.

교황님께서는 덧붙여 말씀하십니다. "어떤 사제들은 마귀 들림을 정신 질환이라고 말하며 이를 부정하기도 합니다.
그러나 악마의 존재는 성서 여러곳에 쓰여져 있고, 그리스도께서 이 악마들을 물리치시고 승리하셨음을 확실히 해주고 있습니다."

그러므로 "순진하게 생각하여 예수님의 승리를 어느정도로 타협해가며 따라가서는 안됩니다."
교황님께서는 예수님의 말씀을 언급하십니다. "내 편에 서지 않는 자는 나를 반대하는 자이다."

예수님께서는 마귀를 물리치시려 오셨습니다. 마귀로 인한 그 속박을 풀어 우리에게 자유를 주시기 위해서 오셨습니다. 그리고 이것은 "과장"이 아닙니다. -교황님께서 덧붙여 말씀하십니다.

교황님께서는 세 가지를 말씀하시며 우리 모두가 악의 속임수와 유혹에 조심할 것을 당부하십니다. - 진리와 혼동하지 않도록.

첫번째 기준: 예수님께서는 마귀와 싸우십니다.
두번째 판단기준: 예수님 편에 서지 않는 자는 예수님을 반대하는 자입니다. 중간은 없습니다.
세번째 기준: 마귀는 교활하므로 (이에 대비해)우리의 마음을 경계해야 합니다.

Pope cautions against the wiles of the devil

October 11, 2013 - Pope Francis is urging Christians to always watch out against the wiles of the devil, saying one cannot fight for Christ’s victory over evil ‘halfway’, nor confuse and relativize truth in the fight against the evil one. Celebrating Mass Friday morning at the Casa Santa Martha residence in the Vatican, the Pope shared a reflection on day’s Gospel reading where people say Jesus was casting out demons with the power of the prince of demons. The Pope said there is always the temptation to want to diminish the figure of Jesus as a mere healer of mental and physical sickness, an attitude, he said, that has “reached our present day”. Some priests deny possession by the devil saying it is mental illness, the Pope said, adding that the presence of the devil is largely written in the Bible which culminates with Christ’s victory over the devil. For this reason, the Pope said, “we should not be naïve” and follow the victory of Jesus” only “halfway” through. Either you are with me, says the Lord, or you are against me,” the Pope recalled. Jesus came to destroy the devil, “to give us the freedom” from “the enslavement the devil has over us”. And this is not “exaggeration” the Pope added. He thus urged all to watch out against deceit and the seduction of evil in three ways - do not confuse the truth. Jesus fights the devil: first criterion. Second criterion: he who is not with Jesus is against Jesus. There is no half way. Third criterion: watch over our hearts because the devil is cunning.
