+ 찬미 예수님!

오늘 교황님께서는 우리 사회에 깊이 뿌리 내린,  종교를 주제로 공공연히 드러내 놓고 말하는 것이 금기(tabu)시 된 이 현실을 "일반적, 일반화된 배교(가 종용되는 억압, general apostasy)", "금지된 주님 경배(forbidding worship)"라고 표현하시며 박해와 함께 종말전에 나타나는 표징이라고도 말씀하십니다. 참신, 충격... 

"신앙은 '사적인, 개인적인' 것이 아닙니다. 박해와 억압속에서도 꿋꿋이 하느님을 찬미하십시오."

종교가 단순히 개인적인 일로 치부되기를 원하는 세속적인 힘이 있습니다. 그리고 오늘날 박해 받고 있는 그리스도인들은 예수 그리스도의 마지막 재림을 예고하는 시련의 표징중 하나입니다. - 이것이 목요일 바티칸의 성녀 마르타의 집 게스트 하우스에서 집전된 이른 아침 미사에 모인 신자들에게 프란치스코 교황님께서 하신 말씀입니다. 

요즈음 우리가 읽고 있는 전례(복음)의 주님과 악과의 마지막 싸움에는 함정이 있습니다. -교황님께서는 이것을 "전 세계적 유혹"이라고 칭하십니다.-  그것은 하느님의 뜻과는 반대되는 속임수에 넘어 가도록 하는 유혹입니다. 그러나 진정한 믿음을 지닌 이들은 예수님을 바라보며 그 교활한 악에 버티어 내는 힘을 구할 수 있습니다. 공생활중에 온갖 모욕과 거짓들을 견디어 내셨고, 사막에서는 악마의 시험까지도 참아내신 예수님께서는, 그들을 밀어내어 십자가의 죽음에까지 나아가셨습니다. 그러나, 평화의 왕자이신 예수님께서는 부활을 통하여 세상의 왕자를 이기어 승리를 거두셨습니다.

-강론 말씀에서, 교황님께서는 그리스도의 생애에 일어난 이 일들을 지적하셨습니다.-  왜냐하면, 우리가 들은대로 복음말씀은 세상 종말의 무질서한 때에 대하여 이야기 합니다. 그리고 우리는 하느님을 상대로 한 세상 왕자의 승리는 엄청난 자연 재해보다 더욱 재난스러울 것이라는 것을 깨닫게 됩니다.

예수님께서 이 재앙을 또 다른 구절에서도 말씀하셨는데,  그것은 성전 모독, 믿음에 대한 모독, 사람들의 모독(박해)이 될 것이라고 하셨습니다: 그것은 혐오스러운 것이 될 것입니다: 그것은 황폐하고 혐오스러운 것이 될 것입니다. 이것은 무슨 의미일까요? 그것은 이 세상 왕자의 승리와 같은 것입니다: 즉 하느님의 패배입니다.

오늘날 사람들은 종교에 대해 공공연히 말하는 것을 꺼려합니다. "그것은 사적인 것이라고 여겨지고 있습니다. 아닙니까?" 여러분은 그것에 대해 공공연히 말하지 않습니다. -교황님께서는 종교 문제는 터부(금기)시 되었다는 사실을 지적하시며 말씀하십니다.-  "사람들은 세상 권력에 의한 질서에 따라야 합니다. 사람들은 많은 일들을, 근사한 일들을 합니다만 하느님을 흠숭하지는 않습니다. 주님을 찬미하는 것이 금지되었습니다."

이것이 "종말"의 핵심입니다. 이러한 이교도적 태도가 극에 달할 때, 그것이 종말이 올 때 입니다. -교황님께서 힘주어 말씀하십니다.-  이때가 사람의 아들이 영광에 싸여 다시 오실 때입니다.

"박해의 시대를, 주님을 따르는 것이 금지된 시대를 겪는 그리스도인들"이, "모든 이들에게 장차 일어날 일들"의 예언적 징표입니다.

이번 주에는 주님 찬미 금지라고 불리는 , 이 일반화된 배교(general apostasy)에 대해 생각해 보고 우리 자신에게 물어보는 것도 좋을 것입니다: 나는 주님을 흠숭하는가? 나는 주님이신 예수 그리스도를 경배하는가? 나는 이 세상의 왕자 놀이의 법칙에 빠져 있는가?

교황님께서 말씀하십니다. "신뢰와 충실함으로 끝까지 주님을 따르십시오. 이것이 이번 주에 우리가 주님께 청해야 할 은혜입니다."

Pope: faith is not ‘private,’ worship God firmly despite apostasy and persecution

(Vatican Radio) There are worldly powers that want religion to be simply a private matter and today’s persecuted Christians are a sign of the trials that precede Jesus’ final coming – that’s the message Pope Francis imparted to the faithful gathered for early morning mass Thursday at the Santa Marta Guest house inside the Vatican. In the final battle between God and evil that we read in the liturgy in these days, there’s a trap which Pope Francis calls “universal temptation.” It’s the temptation to give in to the deceitful ways of those against God. But those with true faith can look to Jesus for the strength to withstand the insidiousness of evil. Jesus, who endured insults and lies in his public life and the trials of evil in the desert, bore them to his death on the Cross. But, as Prince of Peace, Jesus triumphed over the prince of the world through the Resurrection.

In his homily, Pope Francis pointed to these events in Christ’s life because, he said, as we hear the Gospel recount the tumultuous time of the end of the world, we become aware that the victory of the prince of the world over God would be more disasterous than a devastating natural disaster.

“When Jesus speaks of this calamity in another passage, he tells us that it will be a profanation of the temple, a profanation of the faith, of the people: it will be an abomination; it will be desolation and abomination. What does this mean? It will be like the victory of the prince of this world: the defeat of God.”

Today, the Pope observed, people are discouraged from speaking of religion in public. “It’s (considered) something private, no?” It’s something you don’t talk about in public, he said, pointing to the fact that religious objects have become tabu’. “One has to obey the orders that come from worldly powers. One can do many things, nice things, but not adore God. It’s forbidden to worship. This is at the heart of the “end of times.” It is when this pagan attitude reaches its height, that’s when the end times will come, the Pope stressed. This is when the Son of man will return in glory.

“Christians who suffer times of persecution, times forbidding worship,” are a prophetic sign, the Pope said, of “what will happen to everyone.”

“This week it will do us good to think about this general apostasy which is called a ban on worship and ask ourselves: ‘Do I worship the Lord? Do I adore Jesus Christ the Lord? Do I in some measure play the game of the prince of this world?’ Worship to the end with trust and fidelity,” the Pope said, “this is the grace that we must ask for this week.”
