헨리 나웬  신부님(1932-1996)의 오! 그리고 늘! 4월 2일 [(홍) 주님 수난 성금요일] 경애하는 성 요한 바오로 2세 교종 (1920.5.18 ~ 2005. 4. 2) 善終 16주년 ! <존엄하게 주고 받는다는 것> The Dignity to Give and Receive “이 세상에는 줄 것이 아무 것도 없을 만큼 가난한 이도 없고, 받을 것이 하나도 없을 만큼 부자도 없다” 성 요한 바오로 2세 교종께서는 이 말씀을 평화를 위해 일하기를 바라는 모든 이들에게 강력한 지침으로 주신 겁니다. 주는 이와 받는 이라는 두 편으로 세상이 갈려 있다면 평화는 상상할 수 없습니다. 사람의 참다운 존엄성은 주는 것은 물론 받는 것에서도 찾을 수 있습니다. 개인만이 아니라 국가, 문화 및 종교 공동체에서도 마찬가지 입니다. 평화의 참다운 비전은 주는 것과 받는 것이라는 끊임없는 상호행위에서 드러납니다. 남에게 줄 때는 주는 이에게서 우리가 무엇을 받고 있는지 반드시 스스로 묻고 나서 줘야 합니다. 또 받을 때는 받는 이에게 무엇을 줘야 하는지 반드시 묻고나서 받아야 하는 겁니다. The Dignity to Give and Receive APRIL 2 “Nobody is so poor that he/she has nothing to give, and nobody is so rich that he/she has nothing to receive.” These words by Pope John-Paul II, offer a powerful direction for all who want to work for peace. No peace is thinkable as long as the world remains divided into two groups: those who give and those who receive. Real human dignity is found in giving as well as receiving. This is true not only for individuals but for nations, cultures, and religious communities as well. A true vision of peace sees a continuous mutuality between giving and receiving. Let’s never give anything without asking ourselves what we are receiving from those to whom we give, and let’s never receive anything without asking what we have to give to those from whom we receive.   † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘.
