헨리 나웬  신부님(1932-1996)의 오! 그리고 늘! 5월 13일 <비움과 채움> Emptiness and Fullness 비움과 채움은 언뜻 보면 정반대같습니다. 하지만 영성살이에선 그렇지 않습니다. 영성살이에서는 하느님을 위해 자신을 비움으로써 가장 깊숙한 욕망들이 채워지는 걸 깨닫는 겁니다. 우리 삶의 잔들을 완전히 비워야만 하느님께서 베푸시는 충만한 생명을 받을 수 있는 겁니다. 예수님께서는 십자가상에서 그 모범을 보여주셨습니다. 완전한 비움과 완전한 채움의 순간이 같아진 겁니다. 예수님께서는 사랑하시는 아빠 아버지께 모든 걸 바치시며 이렇게 부르짖으셨습니다. “다 이루어졌다 “(요한 19:30). 십자가에서 들어올려지신 분께서 또한 부활하심으로 들어올려지신 겁니다. 하느님께서는 자신을 비우시고 낮추신 분을 드높이 올리시고 "모든 이름 위에 뛰어난 이름을 그분께 주셨습니다."(필리 2:7-9 참조) 그러니 우리는 예수님의 물으심에 늘 귀를 기울여야 하는 겁니다. “내가 마시게 될 잔을 너희도 마실수 있느냐? “(마태 20,22) Emptiness and Fullness MAY 13 Emptiness and fullness at first seem complete opposites. But in the spiritual life they are not. In the spiritual life we find the fulfillment of our deepest desires by becoming empty for God. We must empty the cups of our lives completely to be able to receive the fullness of life from God. Jesus lived this on the cross. The moment of complete emptiness and complete fullness become the same. When he had given all away to his Abba, his dear Father, he cried out, “It is fulfilled” (John 19:30). He who was lifted up on the cross was also lifted into the resurrection. He who had emptied and humbled himself was raised up and “given the name above all other names” (see Philippians 2:7-9). Let us keep listening to Jesus’ question: “Can you drink the cup that I am going to drink?” (Matthew 20:22).   † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘.
