헨리 나웬  신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 5월 25일 <온유하신 예수님> Jesus is Gentle 축복받은 분이신 예수님께서는 온유하십니다. 온갖 꼴의 위선을 속속들이 가열차게 꾸짖고 속이며 허풍떨고 사람들을 이리저리 갖고 놀며 억누르는 걸 담대하게 공격하시지만 예수님의 마음은 온유하십니다. 부러진 갈대를 꺾지 않고 연기 나는 심지를 끄지 않으십니다.(마태12:20 참조). 에수님께서는 사람들이 겪는 고통을 지나치지 않으시고 상처를 낫게 하시며 마음 약한 이들에게 용기를 북돋아 주십니다. 예수님께서는 모든 말씀으로 가난한 이들에게 기쁜 소식을 전하시고 눈먼 이들을 다시 보게하시며 잡혀간 이들을 해방시키려고 오신 겁니다.(루카 4 ,18-19 참조) 이렇게 하느님의 엄청나신 자비를 드러내 보여주신 겁니다.  에수님을 따르는 우리도 예수님 처럼 온유하게 살아가는 부르심을 받은 겁니다. Jesus is Gentle MAY 25 Jesus, the Blessed One, is gentle. Even though he speaks with great fervor and biting criticism against all forms of hypocrisy and is not afraid to attack deception, vanity, manipulation and oppression, his heart is a gentle heart. He won’t break the crushed reed or snuff the faltering wick (see Matthew 12:20). He responds to people’s suffering, heals their wounds, and offers courage to the fainthearted. Jesus came to bring good news to the poor, sight to the blind, and freedom to prisoners (see Luke 4:18-19) in all he says, and thus he reveals God’s immense compassion.
