헨리 나웬 신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 10월 18일[성 루카 복음사가 축일]  <교회를 믿는다는 것> Believing in the Church 교회는 믿음의 대상입니다. 우리는 사도 신경에서 이렇게 기도드립니다 "전능하신 천주 성부 천지의 창조주를 저는 믿나이다. 그 외아들 우리 주 예수 그리스도님 -- 성령을 믿으며 거룩하고 보편된 교회와 모든 성인의 통공을 믿으며 죄의 용서와 육신의 부활을 믿으며 영원한 삶을 믿나이다." 우리는 교회를 믿어야 하는 겁니다! 사도신경에서 말하는 교회란 우리를 도와 성부, 성자, 성령이신 하느님을 믿게 하는 조직체가 아닙니다. 그렇습니다. 우리의 사명은 하느님을 믿는 같은 믿음으로 교회를 믿는 겁니다. 이따금 하느님을 믿는 것보다 교회를 믿는 게 더 어렵다는 생각이 듭니다. 하지만 하느님께 대한 믿음과 교회에 대한 믿음을 서로 떼어놓을 때마다 우리는 믿음이 없는 이가 되는 겁니다. 하느님께서는 친히 우리와 함께 계시는 자리로 교회를 주신 겁니다. Believing in the Church OCTOBER 18 The Church is an object of faith. In the Apostles’ Creed we pray: “I believe in God, the Father … in Jesus Christ, his only Son – in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting.” We must believe in the Church! The Apostles’ Creed does not say that the Church is an organization that helps us to believe in God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. No, we are called to believe in the Church with the same faith we believe in God. Often it seems harder to believe in the Church than to believe in God. But whenever we separate our belief in God from our belief in the Church, we become unbelievers. God has given us the Church as the place where God becomes God-with-us. † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘. |
