헨리 나웬 신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 11월 24일 <그리스도님과 함께 드높혀짐을 기다린다는 것> Waiting to Be Lifted Up With Christ 그리스도님의 재림과 부활을 기다리는 것은 같은 겁니다. 재림은 부활하신 그리스도께서 오셔서 이승을 떠난 우리 몸을 하느님의 영광 가운데 그분과 함께 일으켜 주시는 겁니다. 예수님의 부활과 우리의 부활은 우리 믿음의 가온입니다. 우리와 예수님께서 하느님의 사랑을 받는 것이 서로 관련을 맺고있는 것처럼 우리와 예수님의 부활도 아주 가까이 관련을 맺고 있는 겁니다. 사도 바오로는 매우 단호하게 말씀합니다. "죽은 이들의 부활이 없다면 그리스도께서도 되살아나지 않으셨을 것입니다. 그리스도께서 되살아나지 않으셨다면, 우리의 복음 선포도 헛되고 여러분의 믿음도 헛됩니다."(1코린15,13~14) 짜장 우리의 기다림은 부활하신 그리스도님을 기다리는 겁니다. 그분은 하느님과 함께 하시는 영원한 삶 속에서 그분과 함께 우리를 드높혀주실 겁니다. 예수님의 부활과 우리 자신의 부활이란 지평에서 볼 때 비로소 그분의 삶과 우리의 삶이 지닌 뜻이 완전히 드러나는 겁니다. 바로 사도 바오로의 말씀대로 입니다. "우리가 현세만을 위하여 그리스도께 희망을 걸고 있다면, 우리는 모든 인간가운에서 가장 불쌍한 사람일 것입니다."(1코린15,19) 남들이 우리를 불쌍히 여기지 않아도 되는 겁니다. 바로 예수님을 따르는 우리는 이승의 짧은 삶이 지닌 한계를 훨씬 넘어서까지 볼 수 있고 지금 우리 몸으로 살고 있는 건 단 하나도 헛되이 버려지지 않는다는 걸 믿기 때문입니다.. Waiting to Be Lifted Up With Christ NOVEMBER 24 Waiting for Christ’s second coming and waiting for the resurrection are one and the same. The second coming is the coming of the risen Christ, raising our mortal bodies with him in the glory of God. Jesus’ resurrection and ours are central to our faith. Our resurrection is as intimately related to the resurrection of Jesus as our belovedness is related to the belovedness of Jesus. Paul is very adamant on this point. He says: “If there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ cannot have been raised either, and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is without substance, and so is your faith” (1 Corinthians 15:13-14). Indeed, our waiting is for the risen Christ to lift us up with him in the eternal life with God. It is from the perspective of Jesus’ resurrection and our own that his life and ours derive their full significance. “If our hope in Christ has been for this life only,” Paul says, “we are of all people the most pitiable” (1 Corinthians 15:18). We don’t need to be pitied, because as followers of Jesus we can look far beyond the limits of our short life on earth and trust that nothing we are living now in our body will go to waste. † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘. |
