헨리 나웬  신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오 ! 그리고 늘 ! 3월 14일 <떠남을 통해 성령님을 모신다는 것> Bringing the Spirit Through Leaving 종종 하느님의 영께서는 우리가 없는 가운데서 자신을 드러내십니다. 예수님께서는 제자들을 떠나실 때 이런 말씀을 하셨습니다. “내가 떠나는 것이 너희에게 이롭다. 내가 떠나지 않으면 보호자께서 너희에게 오지 않으신다. …그러나 그분 곧 진리의 영께서 오시면 너희를 모든 진리 안으로 이끌어 주실 것이다. (요한16,7,13) 예수님께서 계시지 않기에 비로소 그분의 벗들은 그분께서 계신다는 뜻을 완전히 깨닫게 된 겁니다. 오로지 그분께서 계시지 않기에 이이들은 그분의 가르침을 완전히 이해하게 되고, 주님과 온전한 통공을 체험하게 된 겁니다. 그리고 오로지 그분께서 계시지 않기에 이이들은 함께 모여서 믿음과 희망과 사랑의 공동체를 이룰 수 있었던 겁니다. 우리가 예수님의 이름으로 벗들에게 다가간다고 다시말하면 우리를 통해서 예수님께서 그이들과 함께 계신다고 떳떳하게 말한다면 우리가 떠날지라도 그이들에게 예수님의 영을 모셔갈 수  있음을 믿을 수 있는 겁니다. 해서 함께 있으나 없으나 우리는. 남들에게. 선물이 되는 겁니다 Bringing the Spirit Through Leaving MARCH 14 It is often in our absence that the Spirit of God manifests itself. When Jesus left his disciples he said: “It is for your own good that I am going, because unless I go, the Paraclete [the Spirit] will not come to you. However, when the Spirit of truth comes he will lead you to the complete truth” (John 16: 7;13). It was only in Jesus’ absence that his friends discovered the full meaning of his presence. It was only in his absence that they completely understood his words and experienced full communion with him; and it was only in his absence that they could gather in a community of faith, hope, and love. When we claim for ourselves that we come to our friends in the Name of Jesus – that through us Jesus becomes present to them – we can trust that our leaving will also bring them the Spirit of Jesus. Thus, not only our presence but also our absence becomes a gift to others.   † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘.
