헨리 나웬  신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오 ! 그리고 늘 ! 3월 18일 (예루살렘의 성 치릴로 주교 학자) <가난 속에서 함께 모인다는 것> Coming Together in Poverty 세상에는 여러가지 꼴의 가난이 있습니다.  경제의 가난, 육체의 가난, 정신의 가난, 심리의 가난. 그리고 영성의 가난입니다.  우리가 서로의 가멸짐, 건강, 안정,  지능. 그리고 정신력 따위에 먼저눈길을 돌린다면 참다운 공동체를 일구어 갈 수 없습니다. 공동체란 여러 재능으로 세상을 놀랍게 하는 장기자랑을 하는 데가 아닙니다. 공동체란 우리가 가난해도 그 가난을 온힘을 다해 이겨낼 방법을 배워야 할 대상이 아니라 새 삶의 참다운 원천으로 인정하고 받아주는 곳입니다. 그것이 어떤 꼴이든 말하자면 가족, 본당, 교구, 12단계 알콜중독치료프로그램 또는 계획공동체 이든 살아있는 공동체는 바로 거기에서 우리의 가멸짐을 드러낼 수 있다는 걸 믿으면서 우리의 가난한 자리에 함께 모이라고  촉구합니다. Coming Together in Poverty March 18 There are many forms of poverty: economic poverty, physical poverty, emotional poverty, mental poverty, and spiritual poverty. As long as we relate primarily to each other’s wealth, health, stability, intelligence, and soul strength, we cannot develop true community. Community is not a talent show in which we dazzle the world with our combined gifts. Community is the place where our poverty is acknowledged and accepted, not as something we have to learn to cope with as best as we can but as a true source of new life. Living community in whatever form – family, parish, twelve-step program, or intentional community – challenges us to come together at the place of our poverty, believing that there we can reveal our richness.
