헨리 나웬  신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 3 월 29일 <인생의 가을이라는 것> The autumn of Life 가을 잎새들을 보면 새빨강, 보라, 노랑, 누렁, 고동색의 아름다운 색깔들이 서로 헤아릴 수 없이 이리 저리 어우러지고 짝을 이루어 두 눈이 부실 지경입니다. 그러다가 이루 다 말할 수 없는 아름다움을 보여준 뒤 바로 땅에 떨어져 집니다.  벌거벗은 나무들을 보면 머지많아 겨울이 온다는 걸깨닫게 됩니다.  마찬가지로 인생의 가을도 형형색색 아주 화려하게 빛날 수 있습니다. 말하자면 우리는 지혜, 유머, 보살핌, 인내, 기쁨이라는 꽃들을 찬란하게 피우고 땅에 떨어져 이승을 떠날 수 있는 겁니다. 벌거벗은 나무를 바라보고 이승을 떠난 이들을  기억하면서 그이들이 보여준 아름다움에 감사드리며 희망을 품고 새로운 봄이 오길 기다려야 겠 습니다. The autumn of Life MARCH 29 The autumn leaves can dazzle us with their magnificent colors: deep red, purple, yellow, gold, bronze, in countless variations and combinations. Then, shortly after having shown their unspeakable beauty, they fall to the ground and die. The barren trees remind us that winter is near. Likewise, the autumn of life has the potential to be very colorful: wisdom, humor, care, patience, and joy may bloom splendidly just before we fall to the ground and die. As we look at the barren trees and remember our dead, let us be grateful for the beauty we saw in them and wait hopefully for a new spring.
