헨리 나웬 신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 3 월 31일 <하느님의 눈과 귀를 간직하고 여행한다는 것> Traveling With the Eyes of God 새 풍경을 보고, 새 음악을 듣고, 새 사람을 만나는 여행은 마음이 설레고 신명 나는 일입니다. 하지만 누군가 여행이 어떠했는지 묻는데 돌아갈 집이 없다면 그런 여행은 그다지 가고 싶지 않을 겁니다. 우리를 사랑하는 이들의 눈과 귀를 간직하고 여행한다면 즐거울 겁니다. 그이들은 우리가 찍은 사진을 보며 여행 이야기를 듣고 싶어하기 때문입니다. 산다는 건 바로 그런 겁니다. 사랑하시는 하느님께서 보내주신 여행입니다. 그분께서는 우리가 집에 돌아오길 기다리시면서 여행 중에 찍은 사진을 보시며 동무들과 사귄 얘기를 듣고 싶어 하십니다. 해서 우리를 보내신 하느님의 눈과 귀를 간직하고 여행한다면 멋진 풍경을 보고, 멋진 소리를 듣고, 멋진 사람들을 만나고… 행복한 마음으로 집에 돌아갈 겁니다. Traveling With the Eyes of God MARCH 31 Travelling – seeing new sights, hearing new music, and meeting new people – is exciting and exhilarating. But when we have no home to return to where someone will ask us, “How was your trip?” we might be less eager to go. Travelling is joyful when we travel with the eyes and ears of those who love us, who want to see our slides and hear our stories. This is what life is about. It is being sent on a trip by a loving God, who is waiting at home for our return and is eager to watch the slides we took and hear about the friends we made. When we travel with the eyes and ears of the God who sent us, we will see wonderful sights, hear wonderful sounds, meet wonderful people … and be happy to return home. “어떠한 눈도 본 적이 없고 어떠한 귀도 들은 적이 없으며 사람의 마음에도 떠오른 적이 없는 것들을 하느님께서는 당신을 사랑하는 이들을 위하여 마련해 두셨다.” 하느님께서는 성령을 통하여 그것들을 바로 우리에게 계시해 주셨습니다. 성령께서는 모든 것을, 그리고 하느님의 깊은 비밀까지도 통찰하십니다. 그 사람 속에 있는 영이 아니고서야, 어떤 사람이 그 사람의 생각을 알 수 있겠습니까? 마찬가지로, 하느님의 영이 아니고서는 아무도 하느님의 생각을 깨닫지 못합니다. 우리는 세상의 영이 아니라, 하느님에게서 오시는 영을 받았습니다. 그래서 하느님께서 우리에게 주신 선물을 알아보게 되었습니다. "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him" --- but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among [humans] knows the thoughts of a [human] except [their] spirit within [them]? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
