헨리 나웬 신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 4월 14일 성주간 목요일 - 성유 축성 미사 [백] <벗들을 위해 제 목숨을 내놓는다는 것> Laying down Your Life for Your Friends 착한 목자들은 제 양들을 위해 기꺼이 목숨을 내놓습니다(요한10,11 참조). 우리가 예수님의 발자취를 따라 걷는 영성의 리더라면 사람들을 위해 제 삶을 내놓으라는 소명을 받은 겁니다. 이렿게 특별한 처지에서 내놓는다는 건 남을 위해 목숨을 버리는 걸 뜻합니다. 하지만 그건 그 무엇보다도 우리가 살아가는 것 즉 슬픔과 기쁨, 절망과 희망, 외로움 그리고 친밀감의 쳬험을 남들이 새롭게 살아갈 수 있는 원천으로 삼도록 잘 가꾸는 걸 뜻합니다. 우리 자신이야말로 남들에게 줄 수 있는 가장 큰 선물 가운데 하나입니다. 특히 어렵고 힘겨운 순간에 우리는 이렇게 말하며 위안와 위로를 건내는 겁니다. “두려워하지 마십시오. 어떻게 살아가는지 잘 알고 있습니다. 저도 그렇게 살고 있습니다. 혼자만 그런 게 아닙니다.” 이렇게 하여 우리는 그리스도를 닮은 목자가 되는 겁니다 ‘주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 나 이제 내 양 떼를 찾아서 보살펴 주겠다. 자기 가축이 흩어진 양 떼 가운데에 있을 때, 목자가 그 가축을 보살피듯, 나도 내 양 떼를 보살피겠다. 캄캄한 구름의 날에, 흩어진 그 모든 곳에서 내 양 떼를 구해 내겠다.---잃어버린 양은 찾아내고 흩어진 양은 도로 데려오며, 부러진 양은 싸매 주고 아픈 것은 원기를 북돋아 주겠다. 그러나 기름지고 힘센 양은 없애 버리겠다. 나는 이렇게 공정으로 양 떼를 먹이겠다.’(에제34,11-12,16) Laying down Your Life for Your Friends APRIL 14 Good Shepherds are willing to lay down their lives for their sheep (see John 10:11). As spiritual leaders walking in the footsteps of Jesus, we are called to lay down our lives for our people. This laying down might in special circumstances mean dying for others. But it means first of all making our own lives – our sorrows and joys, our despair and hope, our loneliness and experience of intimacy – available to others as sources of new life. One of the greatest gifts we can give others is ourselves. We offer consolation and comfort, especially in moments of crisis, when we say: “Do not be afraid, I know what you are living and I am living it with you. You are not alone.” Thus we become Christ-like shepherds "For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: "I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness. I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak...
