헨리 나웬 신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 4월 23일 <하느님께서 세상에 보내신 존재라는 것> Being Sent Into the World 우리 한사람 한사람에겐 살아가는 데에 사명이 있습니다. 예수님께서는 제자들을 위해 하느님 아버지께 이렇게 기도하셨습니다."아버지께서 저를 세상에 보내신 것처럼 저도 이들을 세상에 보냈습니다."(요한17,18) 하느님께서 주신 일들을 이루라고 세상에 보내셨다는 걸 우린 온전히 깨닫지 못합니다. 마치 어떻게, 어디서, 누구와 함께 살지를 우리가 선택해야 하는 것인양 행동하는 겁니다. 그냥 덜컥 창조되어 이승을 떠날 때까지 스스로 만끽할 방법을 결정해야 할 것처럼 행동한다는 겁니다. 하지만 하느님께서는 예수님처럼 우리도.이 세상에 보내신 겁니다. 그런 믿음을 품고 살아가기만 하면 하느님께서 무슨 일을 하라고 우리를 보내셨는지 곧 알게될 겁니다. "그러나 주님을 신뢰하고 그의 신뢰를 주님께 두는 이는 복되다. 그는 물가에 심긴 나무와 같아 제 뿌리를 시냇가에 뻗어 무더위가 닥쳐와도 두려움 없이 그 잎이 푸르고 가문 해에도 걱정 없이 줄곧 열매를 맺는다.(예레17,7,8) Being Sent Into the World APRIL 23 Each of us has a mission in life. Jesus prays to his Father for his followers, saying: “As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world” (John 17:18). We seldom realise fully that we are sent to fulfill God-given tasks. We act as if we have to choose how, where, and with whom to live. We act as if we were simply plopped down in creation and have to decide how to entertain ourselves until we die. But we were sent into the world by God, just as Jesus was. Once we start living our lives with that conviction, we will soon know what we were sent to do. "Blessed are those who trust in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. They shall be like a tree planted by water, sending out its roots by the stream. It shall not fear when heat comes; and its leaves shall stay green; in the year of drought it is not anxious, and it does not cease to bear fruit." - Jeremiah 17:7,8 (NRSV) † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘. |
