헨리 나웬 신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 4월 26일 <위로부터 오는 질문이라는 것> Question from Above 영성에서 나온 질문이란 무엇인가요? 바로 위에서 던져진 질문입니다. 사람들이 예수님에 대해 던지는 대부분의 질문은 아래로부터 오는 질문입니다. 즉 남편이 일곱인 여인이 부활하면 어느 남편과 재혼할 것인지라는 질문인 겁니다. 예수님께서는 이 질문에 해답을 주시지 않습니다. 율법에 묶인 마음가짐에서 나온 질문이기 때문입니다. 다시 말하면 아래로부터 던져지는 질문인 겁니다. 예수님께서는 종종 질문을 이런 식으로 바꾸어 대답하십니다. 남편이 일곱인 여인의 경우를 들어 이렇게 말씀하십니다. “부활 때에는 장가드는 일도 시집가는 일도 없이 하늘에 있는 천사들과 같아진다. ---- 하느님께서 너희에게 하신 말씀을 읽어 보지 않았느냐? '나는 아브라함의 하느님, 이사악의 하느님, 야곱의 하느님이다.’ 하고 말씀하셨다. 그분께서는 죽은 이들의 하느님이 아니라 산 이들의 하느님이시다.”(마태 22,23-30). 영성에서 나온 해답을 바란다면 영성에서 나온 질문을 늘 찾아야 한다는 겁니다. "이것이 내가 좋아하는 단식이냐? 사람이 고행한다는 날이 이러하냐? 제 머리를 골풀처럼 숙이고 자루옷과 먼지를 깔고 눕는 것이냐? 너는 이것을 단식이라고, 주님이 반기는 날이라고 말하느냐? 내가 좋아하는 단식은 이런 것이 아니겠느냐? 불의한 결박을 풀어 주고 멍에 줄을 끌러 주는 것, 억압받는 이들을 자유롭게 내보내고 모든 멍에를 부수어 버리는 것이다. 네 양식을 굶주린 이와 함께 나누고 가련하게 떠도는 이들을 네 집에 맞아들이는 것, 헐벗은 사람을 보면 덮어 주고 네 혈육을 피하여 숨지 않는 것이 아니겠느냐? 그리하면 너의 빛이 새벽빛처럼 터져 나오고 너의 상처가 곧바로 아물리라. 너의 의로움이 네 앞에 서서 가고 주님의 영광이 네 뒤를 지켜 주리라."(이사58,5-8( Question from Above APRIL 26 What are spiritual questions? They are questions from above. Most questions people ask of Jesus are questions from below, such as the question about which of a woman’s seven husbands she will be married to in the resurrection. Jesus does not answer this question because it comes from a legalistic mind-set. It is a question from below. Often Jesus responds by changing this question. In the case of the woman with seven husbands he says, “At the resurrection men and women do not marry – have you never read what God himself said to you: ‘I am God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob?’ He is God not of the dead but of the living” (Matthew 22:23-30). We have to keep looking for the spiritual question if we want spiritual answers. "Is this the kind of fast I have chosen, only a day to humble oneself? Is it only for bowing one's head like a reed and for lying on sackcloth and ashes? Is that what you call a fast, a day acceptable to the Lord? Is this not the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter -- when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear..." - Isaiah 58: 5-8 (NIV) † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘. |
