헨리 나웬 신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 5월 22일 <예수님, 축복받으신 분> Jesus, the Blessed One 예수님께서는 축복받으신 분입니다. Benediction, 즉 축복은 이 낱말을 이루는 라틴어로 새기면 “좋은 것을 (bene) 말한다 (dicere) “는 뜻입니다. 예수님께서 축복받으신 분인건 하느님께서 그분께 대해 좋은 것들을 말씀하셨기 때문입니다. 이는 요르단강에서 세례를 받으시고 나서 하느님께서 예수님을 축복하신 말씀에서 아주 또렷하게 알 수 있습니다. “ 그리고 하늘에서 이렇게 말하는 소리가 들려왔다. '이는 내가 사랑하는 아들, 내 마음에 드는 아들이다'.”(마테3,16-17) 예수님께서는 이 축복과 더불어 공생활을 시작하신 겁니다. 그리고 그분의 온 공생활은 하느님의 축복이 예수님 자신뿐만이 아니라 그분을 따르는 모든 이들에게도 내려진다는 걸 가르쳐 주시는 겁니다. 그의 말을 듣는 이들은 모두 그의 슬기로운 답변에 경탄하였다. 예수님의 부모는 그를 보고 무척 놀랐다. 예수님의 어머니가 “얘야, 우리에게 왜 이렇게 하였느냐? 네 아버지와 내가 너를 애타게 찾았단다.” 하자, 그가 부모에게 말하였다. “왜 저를 찾으셨습니까? 저는 제 아버지의 집에 있어야 하는 줄을 모르셨습니까?” 그러나 그들은 예수님이 한 말을 알아듣지 못하였다. 예수님은 부모와 함께 나자렛으로 내려가, 그들에게 순종하며 지냈다. 그의 어머니는 이 모든 일을 마음속에 간직하였다. 예수님은 지혜와 키가 자랐고 하느님과 사람들의 총애도 더하여 갔다.(루카2,47-52) Jesus, the Blessed One May22 Jesus is the Blessed One. The word benediction, which is the Latin form for the word blessing, means “to say (dicere) good things (bene).” Jesus is the Blessed One because God has spoken good things of him. Most clearly we hear God’s blessing after Jesus has been baptised in the river Jordan, when “suddenly there was a voice from heaven, ‘This is my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on him’” (Matthew 3:16-17). With this blessing Jesus starts his public ministry. And all of that ministry is to make known to us that this blessing is not only for Jesus but also for all who follow him. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. [He was twelve years old]. When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, "Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you." "Why were you searching for me?" he asked. "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?" But they did not understand what he was saying to them. Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them.
