헨리 나웬 신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 6월 6일 <그리스도와 공동 상속자라는 것> Joint Heirs with Christ 우리는 그리스도님 보다는 모자란 존재라고 끊임없이 스스로 낮추곤 합니다. 해서 그리스도인의 믿음살이가 주는 모든 영광은 물론 모든 고난도 꺼리게 되는 겁니다. 하지만 예수님을 이끄신 성령님께서는 우리도 이끌어 주십니다. 바오로 사도의 말씀대로 입니다. “이 성령께서 몸소, 우리가 하느님의 자녀임을 우리의 영에게 증언해 주십니다. 자녀이면 상속자이기도 합니다. 우리는 하느님의 상속자입니다. 그리스도와 더불어 공동 상속자인 것입니다.”(로마 8,16-17) 이러한 진리를 따라 살기 시작하면 우리네 삶은 뼛속까지 바뀌게 될 겁니다. 하느님의 자녀가 누리는 완전한 자유가 무슨 뜻인지 또 이 세상 것을 완전히 거부하는 게 무슨 뜻인지도 깨닫게 되는 겁니다. 고통을 피하려고 영광을 누리길 망설이는 건 이해할 수 있는 일입니다. 하지만 그리스도의 고난을 기꺼이 함께 받는다면 그분의 영광도 함께 누리게 될 겁니다.(로마 8,17 참조) "주님은 영이십니다. 그리고 주님의 영이 계신 곳에는 자유가 있습니다. 우리는 모두 너울을 벗은 얼굴로 주님의 영광을 거울로 보듯 어렴풋이 바라보면서, 더욱더 영광스럽게 그분과 같은 모습으로 바뀌어 갑니다. 이는 영이신 주님께서 이루시는 일입니다."(2코린3,17-18) Joint Heirs with Christ June 6 We continue to put ourselves down as less than Christ. Thus, we avoid the full honor as well as the full pain of the Christian life. But the Spirit that guided Jesus guides us. Paul says: “The Spirit himself joins with our spirit to bear witness that we are children of God. And if we are children, then we are heirs, heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ” (Romans 8:16-17). When we start living according to this truth, our lives will be radically transformed. We will not only come to know the full freedom of the children of God but also the full rejection of the world. It is understandable that we hesitate to claim the honor so as to avoid the pain. But, provided we are willing to share in Christ’s suffering, we also will share in his glory (see Romans 8:17). "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." - 2 Corinthians 3: 17-18 (NIV) † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘. |
