헨리 나웬  신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 6월 12일 [(백) 지극히 거룩하신 삼위일체 대축일] <사랑받을 힘을 받는다는 것> Empowered to Receive Love 성령님께서 우리에게 보여주신 건 하느님께서 “아빠, 아버지”이실뿐아니라 우리가 하느님 품 안의 사랑받는 자녀라는 겁니다. 하여 성령님께서는 바로 이런 관계를 되살리시어 거기서 그밖의 모든 관계들도 뜻을 찾게 되는 겁니다. Abba는 아주 가깝게 느껴지는 낱말입니다. 가장 잘 옮긴 게 “아빠”입니다. Abba라는 낱말이 나타내는 건 신뢰, 안전, 확신, 소속감 그리고 그 무엇보다도 친밀함입니다. 여기에는 종종 ‘아버지’ 라는 낱말에서 풍기는 권위, 권력 그리고 통제 같은 건 들어있지 않습니다. 오히려 Abba에는 보듬어주고 보살펴주는 사랑이란 뜻이 담겨 있습니다. 이 사랑은 우리를 사랑하는 부모 형제 자매, 배우자, 친구 그리고 연인들의 사랑을 모두 아우르고 또 한없이 초월하는 겁니다. 이게 바로 성령님께서 주시는 은사(恩賜)입니다. "예수님께서는 이렇게 이르시고 나서 하늘을 향하여 눈을 들어 말씀하셨다. “아버지, 때가 왔습니다.--저는 그들에게 아버지의 이름을 알려 주었고 앞으로도 알려 주겠습니다. 아버지께서 저를 사랑하신 그 사랑이 그들 안에 있고 저도 그들 안에 있게 하려는 것입니다.”(요한17,1,26) Empowered to Receive Love June 12 The Spirit reveals to us not only that God is “Abba, Father” but also that we belong to God as his beloved children. The Spirit thus restores in us the relationship from which all other relationships derive their meaning. Abba is a very intimate word. The best translation for it is: “Daddy.” The word Abba expresses trust, safety, confidence, belonging, and most of all intimacy. It does not have the connotation of authority, power, and control, that the word Father often evokes. On the contrary, Abba implies an embracing and nurturing love. This love includes and infinitely  transcends all the love that comes to us from our fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, spouses, and lovers. It is the gift of the Spirit. After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the time has come... I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them." - John 17: 1, 26 (NIV   † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘.
