헨리 나웬  신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 9월 9일 <세상 끝 날에 살아간다는  것> Living in the End-Time 우리는 세상 끝 날에 살고 있습니다!  이는 머지않아 창조가 끝나는 날이 온다는 뜻이 아니라, 예수님께서 말씀하신 세상 끝 날을 나타내는 표징들이 이미 우리와 함께 있다는 뜻입니다 : 전쟁과 반란이 일어나고, 민족과 민족, 나라와 나라가 맞서 일어나며, 큰 지진, 전염병, 기근이 생기고, 또 박해를 받는 겁니다(참조 루카 21,9-12).  예수님께서 이 세상에서 일어나는 사건들을 말씀하시면서 우리가 마지막 머물 곳은 이 세상이 아니며 사람의 아들이 오시어 우리를 완전히 자유롭게 하실 거라고 선포하십니다.  하여 예수님께서 “이러한 일들이 일어나기 시작하거든 허리를 펴고 머리를 들어라. 너희의 속량이 가까웠기 때문이다.”(루카21,28)고 말씀하신 겁니다.  우리를 둘러싸고 벌어지는 끔찍한 사건들은 우리가 마지막 속량(贖良)을 맞이할 준비를 시키는 수단으로 겪어내야 하는 겁니다. "우리는 흔들리지 않는 나라를 받으려 하고 있으니 감사를 드립시다. 감사와 함께 존경과 경외로 하느님 마음에 드는 예배를 드립시다."(히브12,28) Living in the End-Time SEPTEMBER 9 We are living in the end-time! This does not mean that creation will soon come to its end, but it does mean that all the signs of the end of time that Jesus mentions are already with us: wars and revolutions, conflicts between nations and between kingdoms, earthquakes, plagues, famines, and persecutions (see Luke 21:9-12). Jesus describes the events of our world as announcements that this world is not our final dwelling place, but that the Son of Man will come to bring us our full freedom. “When these things begin to take place,” Jesus says, “stand erect, hold your heads high, because your liberation is near at hand” (Luke 21:28). The terrible events surrounding us must be lived as ways to make us ready for our final liberation. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe... - Hebrews 12: 28 (NIV)   † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘.
