헨리 나웬  신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 9월 10일 <증언할 기회리는  것> Opportunities to Witness 예수님께서는 현재를 사는 법을 우리에게 가르쳐 주십니다. 예수님께서는 현재가 바로 세상 끝날, 당신과 당신의 나라를 증언할 많은 기회를 주는 그 날이라고 말씀하십니다. 이 세상의 많은 재난들과 매일같이 사람들에게 일어나는 모든 비극들 때문에 우리는 쉽게 절망에 빠지고 스스로를 환경의 슬픈 희생자라고 믿어버릴 수 있는 겁니다. 하지만 예수님께서는 이 사건들을 철저하게 다른 눈길로 보십니다. 즉 그것들이야말로 증언할 기회라고 부르신 겁니다! 예수님께서는 우리가 이 세상 것이 아니라고 일깨워 주십니다. 우리가 이 세상에 파견된 건 조건 없는 하느님 사랑의 살아있는 증인이 되어 모든 이들에게 잠시 머물다 지나가는 덧없는 존재의 얼개를 넘어서 약속받은 영원한 생명을 바라보도록 권고하는 겁니다. "우리로서는 보고 들은 것을 말하지 않을 수 없습니다.”(사도4,20) Opportunities to Witness SEPTEMBER 10 Jesus teaches us how to live in the present time. He identifies our present time as the end-time, the time that offers us countless opportunities to testify for Jesus and his Kingdom. The many disasters in our world, and all the tragedies that happen to people each day, can easily lead us to despair and convince us that we are the sad victims of circumstances. But Jesus looks at these events in a radically different way. He calls them opportunities to witness! Jesus reminds us that we do not belong to this world. We have been sent into the world to be living witnesses of God’s unconditional love, calling all people to look beyond the passing structures of our temporary existence to the eternal life promised to us.
