헨리 나웬  신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 9월 13일 (백) 성 요한 크리소스토모 주교 학자 기념일] <사랑 안에 단단히 자리잡는다는  것> Remaining Anchored in Love 불안을 느끼면 지나치게 준비하기 십상입니다. 남들로부터 공격을 받으면 무슨 말을 해야 할지, 질문하면 어떤 식으로 대응해야 할지, 또 비난을 하면 어떻게 변론을 해야 할지 이리 저리 궁리하는 겁니다. 바로 이 혼란때문에 우리가 자신감을 잃어버리거나 약해지는 자기의식을 갖게 되는 겁니다. 예수님께서는 아무 준비도 하지 말고 친히 필요한 언변(말솜씨)과 지혜를 주실 걸 믿으라고 말씀하십니다. 중요한 건 준비할 언변이 적다는 게 아니라 예수님의 사랑 안에 단단히 자리를 잡고 이 세상에서 우리의 신원(身元·누구인지)과 존재 이유(왜  있는건지)를 확신하는 겁니다. 하여 우리 마음이 예수님의 마음과 하나로 연대함으로써 말할 때가 되면 언제라도 무슨 말을 해야 할지 알게 될 겁니다. " -- 어떻게 답변할까, 무엇으로 답변할까, 또 무엇을 말할까 걱정하지 마라. 너희가 해야 할 말을 성령께서 그때에 알려 주실 것이다.”(루카12,11-12 Remaining Anchored in Love SEPTEMBER 13 When we are anxious we are inclined to overprepare. We wonder what to say when we are attacked, how to respond when we are being interrogated, and what defence to put up when we are accused. It is precisely this turmoil that makes us lose our self-confidence and creates in us a debilitating self-consciousness. Jesus tells us not to prepare at all and to trust that he will give us the words and wisdom we need. What is important is not that we have a little speech ready but that we remain deeply anchored in the love of Jesus, secure about who we are in this world and why we are here. With our hearts connected to the heart of Jesus, we will always know what to say when the time to speak comes.
