헨리 나웬 신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 11월 27일 [자] 대림 제1주일 <몸에 경의와 존경을 나타내는 것> Having Reverence and Respect for the Body 우리는 여러방법으로 우리 몸을 이용하고 학대합니다. 몸으로 우리에게 오시고 몸과 함께 하느님의 영광 속에 드높여지신 예수님께서는 우리 몸과 다른 이들의 몸을 큰 경외와 존경으로 대하라고 촉구하십니다. 하느님께서는 예수님을 통해 우리 몸을 지성소로 만드시어 머무르시기로 작정하셨습니다. 하여 몸의 부활을 믿는 우리 신앙은 우리 자신의 몸과 서로의 몸을 사랑으로 보살피라고 추동하는 겁니다. 서로의 상처를 싸매주고 서로의 몸을 치유해준다면 우리는 영원한 삶을 누리기로 정해진 몸인 사람의 몸이 거룩하다고 증거하는 겁니다. "너는 이 세 사람 가운데에서 누가 강도를 만난 사람에게 이웃이 되어 주었다고 생각하느냐?”율법 교사가 “그에게 자비를 베푼 사람입니다.” 하고 대답하자, 예수님께서 그에게 이르셨다. “가서 너도 그렇게 하여라.”(루카10,36,37) Having Reverence and Respect for the Body NOVEMBER 27 In so many ways we use and abuse our bodies. Jesus’ coming to us in the body and his being lifted with his body in the glory of God call us to treat our bodies and the bodies of others with great reverence and respect. God, through Jesus, has made our bodies sacred places where God has chosen to dwell. Our faith in the resurrection of the body, therefore, calls us to care for our own and one another’s bodies with love. When we bind one another’s wounds and work for the healing of one another’s bodies, we witness to the sacredness of the human body, a body destined for eternal life. "Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?" The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him."
